The only parts that we use for a SSE on an AR pistol is a "zero" capacity magazine. The only issue would be that we do NOT have a large market for AR pistols, so little interest that all we carry for them is the buffer tube and the gas tube.

I'm not sure about other shops, but that is nothing that we would be willing to do (not meant to sound rude, by all means). This is a dark gray area as it is, and California is an absolutely brutal state to try and sling guns in

I got my 20" upper from palmetto state and has run flawlessly.

If you want a BCM then I would say sign up for their email notification. They will email you as soon as they come back in stock. I had to do this for their BCG a while back.

If I could do it again I would go with an 18" barrel. the 20" is really long to be carrying around the woods... haha

I have a question. I have a stripped lower by stag and I am having a hard time finding a stag lower parts kit that isn't sold out. At my LGS, they have a CMMG lower parts kit. I'm sure it will work fine with the stag lower, but would it make more sense to have stag lower parts with a stag lower since they've tested it using all their own parts? (assuming the would)

only like 3 companies make forged lowers (companies just get their logo put on them), and most, if not all lpks should work with any forged lower

I might suggest getting the parts minus the trigger so you can put in a good trigger at least that's what I did. I didn't want to pay the extra $20 for a trigger that would be sitting on the shelf.
I think I got mine from woa

I am sure you have but just in case... have you looked at Bravo Company? That is where I bought my Stag lower parts kit last month and they had plenty in stock.

CMMG or DPMS is a great basic lower parts kit

I'll spend the few extra bucks and have it tonight so I can build the whole lower, thanks for the link though

What is wrong with the trigger it comes with? Also, what defines a "good trigger"? Not being a smart ass, I just really don't know what would make it a good trigger

    Yep, checked there, thanks!

    cool, thanks!

not to answer for him, but i believe by "good" he means a lighter pull weight (3-6lbs), tuned, single (timney) or double stage (geiselle) trigger. the standard mil-spec trigger is single stage and has a pull weight between 6-12ish lbs and vary greatly, and many argue it is sloppy and gritty (mine is not). also, many aftermarket triggers are adjustable in terms of take-up and reset. they range in price from $120-$400+

Yeah I meant lighter triggers. I have a geissele two stage and really love how it breaks compared to a friends stock trigger. I haven't had any problems with it and it seems like it hits the firing pin harder than stock ones do, not sure if it matter though.

Not at all. You can buy a lower parts kit from RRA that does not include your trigger, just all your pins and springs and detents. I personally am running a Geiselle Super 3 Gun trigger in my AR, and I love it. 3.5lb single stage trigger, with a second trigger spring that will let you make it a 4.5lb if you'd prefer

Ive never felt the need for an "upgraded" trigger in any of my AR's. IMO you will get more of out the gun if you took that money and spent it on ammo and training.

Ive used a one DPMS and 3 PSA LPK's and they were all fine. The dpms was a little harder to get the bolt catch pin in though.
