High clearance for the 4Runner still leaves that panel in place. Just replaces the bumper.

what i was afraid of.....the dent goes higher than the light........so I figured it would. Our bumper is like 6 inches tall......4 runners is like the whole rear end.

I still say he gets it and color matches it.......then just throw that bitch in reverse and GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Got blocked in the senior parking lot at school last year, so the only way out of the block was to go in reverse. At my high school, they wouldn't let you go to first block if you were late. And my teacher was a hard ass British bitch who would have torn my grade to pieces. She's done it before. So it was an act of desperation!

I just don't want a tire carrier if I can avoid it.

Tire carriers are bad ass. They give you so much more clearance under the truck. Ask Denis how much clearance he lost when he mounted his spare 285 under the truck.

Well I use my back window all the time, plus I usually drop the spare and throw it in the back when I go off road. I figure if my spare will fit under the truck while I'm on the road, that's all I need. Otherwise it's just in the way.

Just called my local Toyota body shop. The representative noticed that I brought my truck there last year and started busting my balls about that. This year they're gonna fix the other end!

I think next September I'm gonna drive the Willys all month. That way whatever hits me/I hit, the 1/2" diamond plate bumpers will take care of everything!

I really hope this sorta shit doesn't happen to me every year.... I'm running out of money!

ARB plate bumpers and sliders... that shit will never happen again (and, at your rate, it'd be cheaper) :D

Yea I'm gonna do an Xtor4x4 rear bumper. He's the guy I got the sliders from. Now that he fired everyone that was working for him who had caused that little production/shipping fiasco, he is cranking out orders on his own! He built my sliders in less than a week. He started them last Tuesday, and this is how they look right now:
    na2a5y9u_90cac30024e97ca22324b179bbc954225f2a198c.jpg
He's gonna box em up and ship them tomorrow. But because of what happened, he's gonna give me a great deal on the bumper! And it'll be completely custom made, so it'll be a mix of the ARB, CBI, and the other rear bumpers I like. I luck out in this case because I actually have been holding out on a rear bumper because all the designs I've seen have styling/features I like and some things I don't like. Now I feel much better cause it'll be built exactly the way I want it, getting the best of all the bumpers!

As for the front bumper, I'm really interested in getting a Demello bumper. But on the other hand, that bumper is really minimalistic, and I feel it leaves a lot of the front end exposed. I definitely need skids!

But this is all adding up rather quickly, so I'll leave what ain't broke alone!

I love it! It got rid of my "I don't want massive black bumpers on my red truck" dilemma!

I agree with you on the Demello front bumpers. Seems like it just lets a lot of salt spray and road/trail debris a straight shot at the suspension. It'd be great for approach angle but for a vehicle that doubles as a daily driver... wouldn't be my first choice.

If I ever have a weak moment and get a bumper, it'll probably be an ARB. I love those things and I saw one color matched on a white Tacoma and thought it looked awesome or, in the words of Billy, Wicked Pissa

Yea! ARB has their shit together. I'll still hold off on a front bumper for now cause all this talk about steel is starting to make me fear for my mileage!

The weight will make your city MPG's suffer a little, especially if you have a heavy foot, but normal driving you won't notice (unless you get the 180 lb ARB, full skids and a heavy ass rear bumper). Otherwise, it's no different than having 2 - 3 people in the cab with you. Depending on the front, some can hurt aerodynamics a bit by exposing the tires but, like you said, you're not there yet :D

I love the bumper with the tire carrier. May create a bad blind spot but it's a added cushion if u back into a pole lolol

I'm getting the bumper without the carrier. I have no need for it, and it would just get in my way. I love using my rear window.
