haha its ok. my truck actually had to have a little bit done to it this weekend. heres a story, and some to go with it.

so for the past couple of days, whenever i would get in my truck to back out of a spot, i would crank it, back out of the spot, but when i would put it in drive, it wouldn't want to go anywhere. i knew it wasn't the tranny, because i could get power to my rear drivers side wheel, but my passenger side wheel wouldn't budge. i could eventually get it to go, but i would have to rock it back and forth between reverse and drive. on friday, it actually locked up to where i couldn't go anywhere, so i called up pops and told him what was going on. he met up with me, and we decided it needed to go to firestone so they could *hopefully* fix it. i was able to drive it there fortunately, by rocking it until it unstuck itself.

once we took it there, they took the truck back, jacked it up, pulled off the tires, and they almost immediately found the problem. i'm not sure exactly what it was, but i know they mentioned that my passenger side rear bearing had gone bad and it was leaking brake fluid inside my passenger side drum, causing it to swell and, subsequently, jamming my tire. they decided, with approval from my father and I, to do a full rear brake job, replace the diff. fluid, and put a new bearing and rotor on the passenger side.

i got all of this done over a span of 2 days, and no joke my biggest concern was "I'm not gonna be able to make it to rod run if my truck doesn't drive!?!?!?"

so, i'll actually be there.

i was worried it would break my flawless 1st gen reliablility record...but i asked the mechanic and he said that its not a vehicle or driver specific thing, that sometimes shit just happens. he said they see about 5 a year out of 1500 vehicles they service.

 

i’m going to say it’s because of 1st GEN! i don’t have that for a long time

 

yeah, but for my truck being almost 15 years old and the only things other than regular service are a bad starter and this. pretty good if i say so myself...original tranny, engine, and all other main components.

its about to need its 3rd timing belt though.
