Has anyone ran the 4.0 v6 in something else? I was thinking of swapping on in a 91 toyota 4 by I love that motor in my 07 Tacoma I was wondering if there was a aftermarket wiring harness I have the computer and engine harness. I tried surfing the web to find like a painless harness but no luck looking for some advice if anyone used one in a swap I don't care about smog or anything just want it to run lol

although it would be infinitely cool, and i dont think the block is much bigger than the ol' 3pointslow they used to throw in there, exaust, support, and whatever transmission you choose would probably be rather tight in there. and the 4.0 is rather tall, but the 3.0 was ohc also so maybe comparable in hight.

lots of guys like the later generation 4-bangers in the old pickups, plenty of power without exceeding the limitations of the rest of the drivetrain. i believe the owner of marlin crawler ie marlin himself runs a 2.7. i would start there.

now that im thinking about it, i believe there are kits available to run the 3.4 from first gen taco so maybe the 4.0 is a possibility. set your mind and your wallet to it and you would be the first that i know of. good luck and let me know if you decide to go for it! i woud love to see it happen

also, are you a member on yotatech? it is a great forum for the pickups and there are countless guys on there with a vast knowlege on exactly what is possible with those little trucks. pirate4x4 and ih8mud are also very good for technical stuff such as motor swaps if memory serves correctly. its been awile since i was a pickup forum hore. im pretty much married to this one now lol

    dude.

that is awesome. do you have any more pictures? i would love to see how that was done because i dont know of any kits or anything pre-fabbed you could have bought. using factory oil pan? what transmission are you running?

sorry i get excited, dont share anything you wouldn't want others making money off of as im sure this is in the works by larger companies. that is going to be a beast of a truck!
