I pulled the trigger yesterday and purchased the Icon Stage 4 with the billet UCA's and 2.5 Remote Resi rear shock upgrade. With Install I am looking at close to $4600 bucs, OUCH. I know I could accomplish the same effect for about 1/4 the price, but I am 42 years old and hell, I wanted the nice stuff for once. Install is going to happen on the 19th.

Next up will be bumpers and skids. I am drawn to the relentless front plate bumper and either Relentless rear or CBI. I am torn between the CBI with tire carrier or the relentless rear.

For sliders i am really struggling with either bolt on or weld on. Some threads indicate welding can cause stress points for the frame and will definitely limit my trade in ability although, I don't think I will ever trade it in.

Also, tire size upgrade. Really going to the 285/75/16 will only yield 1.5" over the stock 265/70/16's on there now.

Where do I buy an actual Hi-Lift jack here in town?

I've been thinking the same thing with the sliders and I'm choosing weld on.

Reason why, IF I have to use my sliders, I'd rather have weld on's that I know will work better to save damage to my truck then bolt on's.

Yeah, I am thinking Weld on too. I would not want to actually have the sliders cause the damage to the rocker panels, then I would have a tweaked frame rail, bent sliders and would not be able to open the door to inspect the damage.

Agreed, Weld On is the way to go. Whose Weld on's are you going with?

I seriously put my AVID weld on sliders to the test last weekend. HIGHLY recommend.

I pretty much have almost completed my stuff and I think bolt on sliders can be every bit as strong as weld on.
If someone doing the welding is not great and I have seen there work, I would not let them weld on my truck. I have seen Brandon's work and I would not think twice about having him weld them on.

I have skids from two different mfgs. and one I cobbled together :D.
Relentless front bumper with winch. Allpro rear ( lighter than I wanted but a good deal at the time )

OME 886 and shocks up front and back. 1 1/2" AAL in rear ( allready too much weight for it so Icon 3 leaf AAL going in with overload spring.

    255-85-16 BFG KM2 tires.
Sounds like you are on the right path.
These trucks are suprising in their off road ability!!!

OP, what shop is doing the install?

I am sure you are a qualified welder, I however am a guy with a welder and not a "Welder".
I would not let myself weld on a set of sliders. :D
    I know my limitations.

Will post after install on 19th. Front and rear 2.5 remote rsi, icon billet uca's, icon aal coming soon, can't wait. I am thinking bud built 5 piece set for bottom now. I am still torn on sliders not sure if I will go weld on or web's bolt on.

Who has relentless fab front plate bumper, what are your thoughts?

New bump stops needed? Timber? What are the advantages to a u bolt flip kit? Damn newbies.

Sounds like you're building an awesome rig man.

Weld on sliders for sure. I love my DOM hybrid kick outs from AVID... solid as hell and great work, tested as well. Welded is the only way to go to protect the truck properly for good strength also.

As for bump's, I like my front Timbrens, the rear are a bit stiff (great if you're gunna tow though). There's a ton of options out there but they work for me well.

U-bolt flip... basically it eliminates that little clamp where the u-bolt connects to hold the leaf springs in... better clearance and one less thing to get hung up on the trail. Looks hella cleaner too... worth the few bucks imho. You can kinda see it in the back of this pic, use your truck for ref to stock.

Not yet but it's on my list of things to get.
He's working on a set of skids & hybrid sliders with kick out for me (along with a lot of other stuff for others).
I like the look of his new '12 bumper and can't wait to see it on a 4x4 '12 instead of just the 5 lugger. One has been sent to a 4x4 owner but haven't seen pics yet.

Icon stage 4 = Perma Grin

So this past Tuesday I dropped my truck off at super duty h q right before closing for install on Wednesday. The install was completed late Wednesday and alignment on Thursday morning and I got the call it was done around 11:30 am Th.

Total installed was $4660 tax and labor, with upgraded 2.5 remote rears from the 2.0's. This is icons stage 4 with the billet UCA's aal and extended travel coil overs.

Saturday afternoon I had some time before dark to do a quick run out at four peaks off the bee line. I had taken her here right after I bought her and wanted to follow the same trail for comparison.

As soon as you turn of the pavement you start onto some wash boards. I had an immediate sinking feeling I just dumped 5k into some pretty shocks. With no idea of what to expect I was disappointed I felt anything other than a cloud underneath. I switched to 4-hi and moved forward. I made my way up to the gated parking area and started my approximately 1.5 mile run. The first down hill left I remembered from my stock run as I took it a bit fast and experienced a bone jarring bottom out and christened my front skid. But not this time!

The icons seemed to love speed, bumps, ripples, rutts and holes and encouraged my ear to.ear grin. The faster I went the bigger the grin. I was blown away over the improvement. Previously, areas I had to taken bone rattling jolts at 15-20 mph I was flying thru at 30-45. The icons soak it up and asked for more. I could not be happier! The first run I came up on a F-150 and a dodge 1500. The refused to pull over to let me pass so I pushed them until they succumbed to their own bone rattling sparks flying ride they got from trying to pull away. I passed them up and and left them in my dust trail. There was no way they could keep pace and I could not have been happier. I met them both at the parking lot and answered their jaw dropping questions. I could not have been happier

    Nice dude! :D

best way to counter washboards is to air down your tires.
