& what kind of fishin' you planning on ? I'm a bass fisherman myself, cranks/plastics/shiners/crawdads... depends what time of the year... I like live bait best.....

(sometimes I'll drag a trout or a bluegill around, but that'll be our secret...) ;)

I used to work at Lakeside Marine/Discount Bait & tackle when they were around, your dad may remember them... Also worked at El Cap, Sutherland, Hodges, lower Otay...outboard repair..

Not sure if any of you guys have looked at my Baja web site ( www.vivabaja.com ), but you may know that the old missions established for the Spanish in Baja California (1697-1834) have been an interest of mine since I was a kid... and while the same Spanish missions have been rebuilt and kept up in California (and kids study them in 4th Grade), many of the same 'chain' of missions south of the border (in Northern Baja California) have not been preserved or well preserved, with only some adobe walls left to save. In Central and Southern Baja, several missions were built with stone, many feet thick, and are still fully intact and used today as churches.

Anyway, another author who is in El Cajon was working on a new book and asked me to help him with the Baja California missions (27) while he worked on the Alta California missions (21)... Alta=Upper, as in the area that is now part of the United States (since 1848).

Well, the book is nearly done, so I thought I would show it to you...

    Cover-1_87d7d394eb27a95b29760fea7d9e9e05e5eabfbf.jpg

We hope to have the final edits done this week, so the book will be available by October... if any of you are interested, we have a web site and have a discount for those who order them before October: http://oldmissions.com

    Thanks for your time!:D

Just so we keep it Tacoma oriented...............

Thats a decent fish for a young female (looks about 3 lbs, males seldom get larger than 2-2.5 lbs)

This time of year thats a HUGE fish (unless you really know a lake & have the means to get to "that special spot" which is usually a pinacle or rock pile way off shore where it comes to a high point) The odds of even a regular decent bass fisherman hooking & landing a 10 lb or better fish is astronomical, believe me I know, I used to go out with Larry Botroff in the shock boat many times to all the lakes prior to opening day, even in the San Diego river behind all those businesses off mission gorge/Friars, we shocked a couple 15 + females....

Damn I wanna go now... personally my best is 11.2, I've fished with Bill Murphy a couple times at the gap at San V & Tom Ormsby & John Fuller , those 2 guys have the state record for biggest stringer at Castiac (not gonna say HOW or WHAT they used) haha actually tho' pretty sure theirs is legit, they're just damned good fisherman

New bolts are for amateurs, bend the inner fender and it comes right out, just gotta be smarter than the sheetmetal, lol .

I have installed probably over 20 sets of arms...not that difficult, and I have never needed new bolts, ever!
