Alabama thread!

I have a hyundai, but since I'm the starter of this thread, i think i'm alright to come.

 

Here are the only pictures that turned out. This is about what the entire park looked like. (no one took pictures of the harder stuff cause only three of us did the harder stuff).



The pictures below are the two other vehicles who made it up this spot ^^^ they had to use lockers too. I've gotz teh skinny pedal skilz.





^^^This is by far the coolest looking jeep i've ever seen. Started out as a cj7, stretched the frame, cut the rear end out of two yj's and welded them together to make a bed. HP60's front and rear, 38x13.5's.

 

I bet that thing was capable. Would you have any interest in going back to the park in the next couple weeks?

 

Damn, I want that thing instead of a stupid side by side.

 

It looked bad ass driving down the road. Pictures don't do it justice as to how much it stands out in a crowd.

 

you'd be surprised. That TJ is the one I was talking about thats locked, armored, axled, and geared. He did more than that big rig did. All the CJ's were hanging their front shackles up on everything.

It would be a stretch but possibly. I've got a lot of stuff to do with my house soon, not to mention a lot of work on the jeep too. I'm really gonna have to armor up to really make use of the whole park and to properly lock and armor, i'm looking at almost a grand. That's gonna be hard for me to swing considering i've got to buy furniture, a fridge, etc.

I could get some of the jeep guys to go and then I'll ride along if need be.

 

So Paul, do you still want to meet up for lunch or wait until next week and get Ty to join?

<edit> I'm leaning toward cancelling today. Sinuses are fried.

 

If we do it next week, I can get one or two more Toyota guys to meet us for lunch.

 

I agree on the last part. I've had the sinus crap for over a week now. Feel fine, no sense of smell and constant drainage.

 

That would be fine. I would really like to explore and check the place out. How big is it? You think we could see the whole park in a day?

 

You could see it in one day, but wheel the whole park in one day? probably not.

finding parts is going to be the hard part haha. I don't want to put new parts back in it when I'm just going to break the same things again lol.

If it is next month, I might be able to join. Going to the beach this weekend to get married on Saturday. Money has been tight with planning this wedding and after this weekend, it will be saved and spent on the truck!.

 

Power steering pump and hose, tie rod, tail lights.

And if i'm going to replace my tie rod, I'm debating doing an over the knuckle conversion.

EDIT: NVM, I could buy about 10 stock tie rods for about the same price haha. Maybe down the road.

By no means am I trying to exclude anyone but I would say MT tires are 100% necessary. There were some trails where lockers would have been nice just for the bypasses. The folks with AT's were getting dragged over things left and right.

Now if you are planning on killing your truck when you go that's a different story...

 

Do you consider Duratracs as an AT or MT. Not that I am planning to take my truck, just trying to get an idea. Of course now that I have skids and my sliders, I'm not worried so much about physical damage, just mechanical.

 

I've always wondered if duratracs were at or mt.. not that it really matters lol just curiosity.
