    OK...
This started after our trail run with Homer a couple of weeks ago. When my truck is cold - like being parked outside, not in the garage, overnight - my e-brake light comes on randomly. Its just the light coming on, the brake isn't actually engaged. It seems to do it more when I accelerate hard and/or drive on rough roads. Once the truck is up to normal running temp the light goes off and stays off. As far as I can tell all systems are fine - e-brake mech in the cab is fine and the line underneath is good too. Its just driving me crazy as I don't know why its happening. :annoyed: Any ideas?

:woot: How many people have come to look at it so far?

    The horror...

Yes, you cable is sticking. There is a spring athat sometimes needs some love (shot of oil/pblaster/etc). It is also possible (happened on my 98) that one or both of the clevis' are "frozen". On the back of the brake, you should be able to move the clevis by hand (wiggle it).

    Thanks Beeny
I'll take another look tonight and report back.
I was freaking out at first because it started the morning after our trail run and I thought maybe I had snagged something on the rocks. Surprisingly I didn't hit anything on that trip - no new shiny spots on the diff or nothing :D

Oh MT is on fire and has been for some time - we just don't make the national news because its only forest, farmland, and Indian reservations burning up. If it was million dollar ski homes in MT going up in flames I guarantee we'd be on the news. Close to 500K acres of MT have burned this summer...compared to maybe 200K of CO. Most of the smoke here now is from Idaho and the "Mustang Complex".

That's just Mom Nature cleaning house.

Imagine what the Earth looked like before we started fighting those fires.

I know. Driving through the forests here is scary because you can just see the fire potential - standing dead trees that have been killed by a beetle infestation and lots of dead, rotted trees on the ground. Perfect fuels. That's one reason why this year is so bad - lots of fuel and a drought.

Come visit me next week, I can take you to 3 active fires within an hour drive of my house.

Does anyone else find it odd that Google creates "doodles" to commemorate anniversaries, holidays, etc. but there is no doodle today?

There is a black ribbon below the search bar for remembering 9/11. I don't think they typically do "doodles" for tragedies like this.

I guess that makes sense...I thought they've done things for war anniversaries before though. Maybe I was wrong.

I think they are trying to take the high road on this touchy subject. This is much more touchy than say WWI or WWII.

Does this look like it could have been caused by an overhanging piece of fire wood to anyone else?

yep, and it is consistent with the bumpy/wavy line. A vehicle would have been a fairly straight scratch.
