I was talking about big manufacturers just rolling the FET into the price. When I looked into my FFL07 I had planned to do the same as you bein the small guy. Just explain the tax to the customer instead of roll it into the price. I understood what you meant about AR lowers. Was just clarifying that the FET wasn't a ca thing since its bad enough here we don't think people thinking its worse lol.

More often than not, the triggers you get in your typical basic lower parts kit is inconsistent and gritty. If you're planning on doing training, you're going to want a weapon that is consistent, atleast that's my $.02

On another note, here are my two new lowers I just color filled :) Probably gonna get rid of the flat tan on the second one. Thought it'd be worth a shot to try it out.

I've had problems with disconnector operation and trigger slap with two Stag LPKs.

All of my LPKs are RRA. Never had a lick of trouble with any of them.

    Totally hear you on that.
As far as the paperwork, everything would be 100% legal even in this state, but ya, if you don't do a lot of AR pistol business, I can certainly understand you not wanting to dedicate the spare parts to this type of transaction, especially since this would be the minority of your already low pistol volume.

Testors acrylic paint. Don't worry about staying in the lines, once it's dry, solvent and a rag and start rubbing. You might need to do 2 or 3 coats though.

The first one is gonna be a foliage build, second I was kicking around a FDE build. We'll see how it works out

I think the only barrels from FN are the chromed hammer forged barrels.

I noticed Del Ton was using FN's CL barrels in their enhanced duty uppers now. Thought that was a step in the right direction at least.

Chrome line cold hammer forged. Daniel Defense and Noveske make these kinds of barrels as well

I really like the bottom one. Something a little diferent

as far as triggers, sure a nice clean 2-4 lb trigger would be great and I would take one if one was given to me but personally I dont find it worth the added cost. :proposetoast:

The ALG triggers are a nice inexpensive option. They are made by geissele and are mil spec but very crisp.

So I got my lower all built last night. It was pretty easy, I just followed the CMMG youtube video, plus adding the buffer tube and stock

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6AZ1jxJGRM

Only thing I am concerned about is the safety switch is pretty hard to turn. After I tightened the handle down it was impossible to change the switch. I removed the handle and I cut about 2 coils off the spring..same thing..I cut another 2 coils off and now I can switch from safe to fire, but it is still pretty hard to switch. Should I keep cutting coils? I just don't want it to be too loose once the spring breaks in.

Also, I didn't just decide to cut the spring, I looked online and people found that usually worked.
