Calling all Virginians (Tidewater area)

id be pissed for not lettin me know wtf was up

 

Ran across something today that has me absolutely puzzled.

So I installed my new wheels and tires almost a week ago or so. DID NOT put in the TPMS from my stockers, but yet I still haven't noticed a light pop up on the dash.

 

are your tires near your truck wen u park every night?

 

They are almost 20 miles away from where I live lol.

 

don't worry, it will pop up eventually...especially on longer trips! but I park mine near my old wheels and tires at night to cancel the light.

Will I only need to park next to them over night one time or consistently to reset it?

 

how am i being funny? alot of people park near their old rims and tires and never have their light come on? i was asking him if that was the case

 

to be completely honest with you, I've got no clue how those little magical bastards work...all i know is i park close to them at night and next day no TPMS light, unless I go for a longer drive

RF signals. thats how your tpms computer above the headliner knows how to read the sensors in your tires and rims. i think on average its about 50 miles you have to drive away from your sensors for the light to come on. might only be 20, but yes, if u park next to the tires and rims everynight and they are reading correct pressures, then ur tpms light will not come on

 

Gonna have to look into this a bit. Halloween weekend I'll be heading to greensboro for a concert, so maybe that will be when it pops up.
