2006 pre-runner 6 speed manual....Air bag light stays on...Anyone have any suggestions? Is there a common problem associated with this? Is it under warranty?

I hate having to take my truck in to the dealer. I guess it could be worse. I could have a Ford. Nothing worse than a Ford service waiting room. I'd rather be stuck at the dmv.

My light started coming on intermittently on my '05 last December...by March it was always on. I was glad when I read about the recall, but then ended up trading the truck in for my 2012 before I had a chance to have it fixed anyway.

Anyone take there truck in to get the clockspring replaced? Did it fix the light?

I took mine in a couple weeks ago and had the clockspring replaced, but the light stayed on. Anyone else exprience the same issue?

Based on what I read I will try to reset it by disconnecting the battery and see what happens. Otherwise if anyone has any other thoughts, please advise. Thanks!

If it wasn't fixed - Why did you accept it back from the dealership?? That light is why you took it in. If it's still on - They need to figure out what the real problem is...Clockspring = Recall fix. Anything else = You decide if you want to pay out for it or not.

I've done 3 that the recall would not fix the light. If the light is not on I just do the recall but, if it is, I scan it and let the ASM know to tell the customer the light will still be on before I even do the recall.
They should have told you before they drove it out to give you the option of going further.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
The front Air Bag sensor (the YELLOW one mounted on top of the driver side front bumper reinforcement- open the hood and look down inside the driver side engine compartment to see) was corroded on mine. Perhaps just unplugging and reinstalling may fix it.
