Point one: Cable management. This is what it looks like. Learn it, bitches, or watch in helpless anguish as your shitty-airflow-cooling-system can't keep up and your video card melts:



Step two: If you live someplace hot....like, ya know, fucking FLORIDA....fans are key to airflow and keeping things cool. And it must be proper airflow, without dead spots, backflow eddies, or such. This took me three hours to set up just right with all the fans:

With an unlocked i7-2600K 8-core cpu, 16 gigs of RAM, and a 560GTX OC'd GPU.

Also, lets count them....

Three 230mm fans.
Three 120mm fans.
Three 80mm fans.

Plus the heat sink has dual fans, and the power supply has its own fan.

The only downside is, with this much airflow, I have to open it up and blow out all kinds of dust and crap every few months. Oh, and with everything in it, the damn thing weighs over 40 pounds.

very clean cable management. I've notice I get a ton of dust in mine as well, and I only have 2 fans not including the one on the GPU, CPU, and power supply. Do you recommend running filters on the exterior fan openings?

Liquid cooling is my next one, already planning it out...prolly early to middle of 2013.

Oh, and Steve...you shouldn't NEED filters on external intakes unless you live in an environment with lots of stuff it in the air. I have two women and a long-haired cat, so I run filters. And I *still* need to open it up and clean it every few months!

This is why I love my case. it has great filters, no unfiltered holes except for exhaust fans, and the only dead zones were on the harddrives. I wash the filters about once a month and after a year my computer has less dust than my old unfiltered case did after only a couple days.

As for video cards melting, this is something most people neglect to cool properly. Most manufacturers consider 80-90 degrees celcius and 40-60 decibals acceptable... I run an arcticcooling accelero and my card has never hit 45 degrees and is virtually inaudible.

Great case! I have the Thermaltake GT .... Also running the same processor. Freaking love it! I'm running two 550ti's, made the mistake of saving money on the cards... but future upgrading....

+10 to HP for having a boss computer.

 

Looks boss, kind of like my setup only I am running AMD / ATI and liquid cooled.

 

Nice job on the cabling. Defintely a nice water cooling system such as a Corsair H100 would help you out.

Do you have a lot of noise with those 230mm fans ?

 

The 120s and 80s are noisier than the 230s...they move air with low RPMs and are whisper quiet. The smaller fans need higher RPMs to move the air volume and are usually noisier as a result.

Considering my 'desktop speakers' are 250 watt, 12 inch mitsubishi sub towers with fully cross'd tweets and 6 inch mids, I don't hear the fans much anyways
