I don't know if it just hasn't been mentioned yet, or if it was just too long ago that I read this entire thread and I have forgotten, but what are you planning on boring the motor to?

It is very much possible to have that done. Within the limitations of the combustion chamber size.
Due to the fact that I have perfectly fine forged CP pistons already, which were to factory spec bore of 3.701, I have no need to increase the bore. Had they been damaged, and I was starting from new with the pistons, then I would have had it bored over. Unless that period of time comes, they will stay as is.

That it would have. Easily could be near a 4.3L. I can only hope that the need to increase bore size, doesn't arise.

Quite so, on the 4.6. I will let whoever follows my foot steps do that route. Mine is to see what the 4.0 can do.

 

Well, looks like the newest mods shall be arriving soon. Sooner than the engine.

ARP flywheel bolts!!! Woot. Worked with Paul at Dezod to get some for our trucks. For one, since we didn't have any, and two because I don't want to chance something happening to my flywheel. In all actuality, you aren't even supposed to re-use factory flywheel bolts once they have been pulled to do clutch work.

So with the added stresses of being a boosted engine, I have long felt it necessary to have stronger ones there. Especially after hearing stories of peoples being sheared off before. I am not taking any chances.

well its more like a random "oh hey, i was in the area" type of thing lol
i have some friends in san antonio and i think one lives in houston and then family in AR so it would be a nice road trip

 

I heard one story where a guy was trying to shift and his clutch wouldn't engage. Finally, after getting it towed back to where he could work on it, he found the problem. They all sheared. Had to get a new clutch disk and flywheel. I don't like that idea.

That would be a very good road trip. I have a few friends that live in SA as well. I like goin there and hitting some bike trails with a friend of mine.

You make the trip, I have a spare room and beverage for you.

 

Cool thing is Houston is a short jump from san antonio, and vice versa.

 

And Chunky's in San Antonio has deliciously spicy burgers.

Thank you sir! Just wait til it is completely back together and tuned in properly. By that I mean the engine and suspension. I will finally be able to use the truck for that which it has taken so long to be built for.

I just hope it will turn out as exciting as I imagine it...
