OK SO MY STOCK WHEELS ARE 17X8.
THE WHEELS I WANT ONLY COME IN 17X9
WHATS THE DIFF AND CAN I GET THE 17X9 WITHOUT ANY ISSUES... ?

 

yes. Just make sure to get a 4.5-5" backspace on the new wheels.

 

Your stockers are 17x7.5.

And what size tire do you want to run on the 17x9s

 

im gonna put 265 70 17 on.

 

after you decide on which brand and model of tires you want, check out the tire manufacturer's website to see if it's approved for a 9" wide wheel. some are and some are not.

 

well i wanna put bf's on. all terrain ta ko. 265 70 17. im pretty sure thats the biggest i can go without getting a lift.
do you know what the highest i could go if i were to get a 2 inch lift?

 

BFG AT KO 265/70/17 are not approved for a 9" wheel. On an 8" wheel you'll be ok. With 2" of lift, you're still stuck with the same size listed.

fwiw, I have 17x9 Moto's & BFG AT's 265/70/17 installed as did another member I got the idea from (probably many more as well), Discount tire never told me 3+ years ago they aren't approved? I have close to 3" lift and they still slightly rub on the front mud-flaps at full turn.

I am glad i found this info.... i just bought a used 17x9 eagle alloys..hmmm- how about 275/70/17 tires? or I do have to get 285's for it? thanks for any input

 

Check the tire manufacturers website. It will have the approved wheel sizes.

 

thanks! i went to tirerack.com and reading on the tire manufaturers specs.... got confused on "Rim Width Range" vs. "Measured Rim Width".... can someone please explain

I'd go on the actual tire manufacturer site to get the approved width, rather than tire rack. It will be under "specs" on the tire page.
