    7.3 Powerstroke swap!

It is a 4 banger; power isn't what it "does", it gets good mileage and moves the truck around. Also a quick search would have found quite a bit of info that would have told you the same thing.

Off roading? Start thinking more about torque and less about horsepower. You will get more power from a regear than the same money put into the motor.

You will get more from Power AND a re-gear than just a re-gear alone.

I am sure if the OP wanted a different engine, he would have asked about going that route. So that is a moot point.

No sense in not helping him optimize what he has. Now is there?

Yeah; but let's go ahead and waste a bunch of money trying to get V6 performance out of it. Especially now that we know he is looking for torque instead of horsepower. Since I have a 22RE that I off road then I might have a couple good pointers for him.

Gears and new 4lo gears will make the biggest difference in off road performance. He can toss on a turbo; but all he is going to do is spin tires when he really needs to be crawling.

No; crawling is slowly getting up rocks, racing is going fast across the desert or rocks.

lmao... yeah; you'll make power but at what expense? I'm sure paying almost $3 a horse is a good idea. :stirthepot:

It's what the OP wants. Not you. He asked about more power. I obliged. He can surely read the links and make his own decisions. Have you yet offered any helpful links for the parts you have touched on?

    So links make you useful?

Ok... here is the best gear source. East Coast Gear Supply stands behind their products, are a great technical source, and while you are regearing you can install lockers which will make your truck much more capable off road. Lockers and gears will do more for you than any amount of horsepower ever will.

He wants to offroad race, you want him to crawl.

You're right... off road racing trucks don't have bigger tires that require a regear or lockers.

dumbass. This isn't mall crawling douchbag.

Probably the best advice so far; you'll save more money by getting a truck that is closer to what you want then trying to build what you have.

Has lockers, gears, power, and plenty of go fast! Looks like the ultimate 4 banger mod. Here is a link to the Raptor.

Newbiegeneral, here are the people who you need to talk to. John at LC Engineering. He will be back on or around the 17th. And Gadget at URDUSA.com

Tell them what you are looking for power wise, and your overall truck goals.

They both have a lot of experience with off-road racing, and/or off-roading.

The stinch from the stigma of people denouncing what one can do for THEIR OWN vehicle the way they want to, is overwhelming in the thread.

Also, check out www.customtacos.com. Lots of people over there that love to lift/gear/power-mod their 2RZ's and 3RZ's. Whether with an s/c or turbo.

PM me if you have any questions, and I will help where I can.

Stinch? Why be an under handed pussy when you can actually step out and say you don't like what I'm saying, Pussy? The mods should change that "Senior User" to "Known Vagina".
