And how much do you think the truck would cost with all of that (except the 4 leafs; they're free via TSB)?

Awesome CB setup, TRD leaf springs, matching camper shell...more to come some day.
Well, this one is hard for me seeing as I bought the tacoma because I totaled my ZR2 Blazer (5 speed manual) as well.

It would have been nice if the following had been standard (the following had been on my 01 ZR2 Blazer)

    1) all switches/buttons illuminated (4x4 specific)
    2) locking differential on the rear end (all the ZR2s came with the G80)
    3) more avilable instrumentation (oil pressure, voltage meter)
    4) better setup on the instruments (the whole circle set up this is stupid)
    5) heated mirrors
    6) engine block heater
    7) underhoold lamp
    8) cargo area lamp
    9) stock from the factory with either BF Goodrich A/T or Long trails
    10) smaller din/dash for stero, there is no need to have a cingle cd player and stero take up the space and the size the stock one does.
    11) Front and Rear Heavy Duty TOW HOOKS!!!! (how else are we supposed to pull each other out and stuff when off roading?)

I'm not trying to be an ass but why would you need heated mirrors in Alabama?

    How about:
    1. a courtesy light in the glove box and on the lower corner of the doors
    2. brake pedal closer to the gas pedal (manual trans)
    3. better brake modulation/feel
    4. stiffer suspension for O/R package
    5. how bout the idle not going to 1500 rpm when im braking (in neutral, never seen this before in any vehicle)
    6. the rpm not "hanging" between shifts (makes smooth shifting nearly impossible)
    7. better sound system
    8. adjustable side bolsters
    9. better (read: faster) throttle response ( my old 380k mile 4runner responds faster)
    10.sunroof/moonroof
    11. illuminated ignition
    12. not so light p/s
    13. head restraints that adjust fore/aft

I wish I would carry more beef in the box before having it bottom on the bumps. New 08 and still old weak springs? WTF !!! That and the weak tailgate means I should have kept my chev 1/2 ton for work.

However, this is the first truck I've put money into mods thanks to all the great folks here at TW.

Don't own one yet but I can't stand the position of the clutch pedal and arm. But I will have to get use to it.

    Tacos get stuck??????

This I have never seen. When we used to go regularly, a buddy of mine always ran lead in a 98 taco, and I was always the tail gunner in my 04, we always kept the HEEP (DISCLAIMER... it was a Liberty, I am in no way insulting Wranglers) and the S-10 in the middle so one or the other of us could pull them out.

I don't know about you but to me, time is money and having to take time out to take my truck in to get a damn tsb and have them hold on to the truck for god knows how many hours/days cost me money!....As for pricing, these damn trucks are high in price for what they are. I think most would agree. I know I shopped around for the best deal at the time!

I will say this. I love my truck. I dont want to sell my truck. I want to keep it for at least 10 years (or a badass taco deisel comes out, whichever comes first). But these trucks are overpriced and in my opinion not really worth the money. I will admit that when i bought this truck, i paid for the namebrand and the reputation of that namebrand. A truck with the capabilities of mine and the options should not retail for 30k+. other vehicles have STANDARD options that aren't even available as extra options on our trucks. These trucks are bone stock plain jane no frills. which is fine if you want to charge me 20k for it. but why are these trucks going for 30k with less options than a standard kia or hyundai? The engine, transmission and 4x4 systems may be very good, maybe even some of hte best in the industry, but they alone are not worth what we pay for these trucks. like i said, i love my truck and i'm happy with it, but they are WAY overpriced. even little things like not playing mp3 cds and the 4x4 switch. WHY! why on earth would you leave one single switch with no illumination, when the 4 runner, which uses the exact same switch is illuminated? there is no rational reasoning behind that.

Not to mention some of the stuff I see lacking (hood struts or springs, engine bay lights, bed cargo lights) are STANDARD on MUCH cheaper domestic cars and trucks.

Well, we all wish the Taco come with all that options but the real questions is: Are we willing to pay the extra $$ for it?

My problem is every domestic truck and the Tundra come with bed lights at no extra cost. They're "standard equipment". Why not the Taco?

Domestic cars come with some sort of hood support: springs, struts, etc at no extra cost....

Scions and newer Toyota's have MP3 capability at no extra cost... I mean shit, that's just software programmed into the HU to be able to do that! They don't need any extra hardware that's expensive! Just add some more lines to the code that already runs the damn system! I mean, it can read the CD-text info, translate it to read on the screen, and run all the momentary electronic switches/dials to run it so what would it cost to add MP3 disc playing? DVD players and other devices aren't more expensive because of that feature....

Yeah The interior looks extremely nice for a truck but it scratches so easy, it makes me sick!
