Today is shitty. Growing up and living 10 min outside NYC during this tragedy was just shitty. Knowing people directly affected by what happened , watching the carnage from my front yard, has changed a little piece of me inside. Even going to ground zero on a guided tour most citizens never saw. Not everyday, but at least today, be a little more nice and a lot less dick. Have a great day and never forget

Thanks! It's actually not as bad as I thought. I think 30 was the worst one.

Thanks. Lets get that marg and mod meet going. Hell, just a marg meet is fine with me too. :D I've almost got some grass in my backyard. Was avoiding having anyone here until I got the grass growing but we're just about there.

so does anyone have any advise for getting a decent priced refrigerator? the house I'm buying has a newer fridge in the kitchen, and an old one in the basement and an old one in the garage. I read some stuff online that said if its not energy star certified (1993 or newer) then it's probably using atleast twice as much electricity as a newer fridge. makes it sound like I should get rid of those old fridges before they cost me a bunch of money on my electric bill.

so since I'll need a beer fridge in the garage (possibly with a beer tap kit to make it a kegerator) I'm thinking instead of $400+ for a kegerator, why not get a better fridge (water and ice in the outside of the door) for the kitchen and put the basic one thats in the kitchen now out in the garage.

I was looking on craigslist and keep finding ads for scratchanddentusa.com or something to that effect. If I can get a dented or scratched fridge for a good price I'd be happy to put a sticker or a magnet over the damaged area.. lol

They are not a big deal, don't worry about them, the cost of a he device will not save you enough to justify it. They say the same about hot water heaters, that after 10 years they should be replaced. It's a lot of bulllshit. In the window business, energy star ratings are an important factor. Saving money on energy and efficiencies in home and all that shit is my business. I can look things over and recommend areas of improvement if u like, but attic insulation and windows/ doors are usually biggest wastes in home. Appliances old to new will maybe save you $100 a year. And that's all items combined. Thats $8 a month because ur fridge is old and washer not new.

Scratched dented are always good options, ESP for spare fridge. A lot of times the dent is in the back or non visible side.

yea well if I'm running an old fridge thats costing me $100 a year more than a new one, I'd rather buy a $500 fridge and after 5 years break even

Yes ant, fridges are huge, but that's cause they are on of few things running 24/7. My house is all electric, cooking, heating, a/c, water. 12 month average about $128 . I have home efficiency to a science. $1500 annual energy cost is amazing. U learn what spend money on and what gives greatest return for the $ spent when it's your home. But a new fridge for $500 will be hard to come by. I'll take ur old one, if they are clean when u gets new one :)

Josh, there is a sears appliance outlet in west orange off of 280. It's their scratch and dent place. Jen and I got one of those bottom freezer ones for 40 percent off. And with the taco, no delivery fee. Let me know if you want the address.

That one I haven't heard yet actually. The usual one is... How's the elevator industry? I'll bet it has it's ups and downs, huh?
