What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I velcro-taped down my coverking seat cover and then wasted another hour shopping for new wheels and tires - which of course is pointless for a 5-lug...

 

Rolled into 140 today....

 

Put new front brake pads on and painted the calipers while I was down there.

 

So I am pulling out of the garage (Nose first cause I back in when I park) and I hear some shit dragging when I am about half way out the door. I stop, put it in Park (so I thought) and jump out. The truck starts rolling backwards!! and before I know it the driver's door is getting pryed open the wrong F#*&%$ way by the corner of my house. I quickly press the brake with my hand and look at the shift lever. That shit was in reverse!!! My mind was too preoccupied with jumping out to investigate the sound that I failed to properly place the truck in Park.

After I shit a brick, I inspected the driver's door and thankfully there wasn't any major damage (scratched paint off the top corner of the door and scraped the inside edge of the door panel on the stucco).

Now, back to the dragging sound I heard. For one reason or another my garage door decided to start closing when the cab of the truck was directly beneath it. The garage door was pushing down on the roof as I was trying to pull out. The damage? A dented roof where the garage door attempted to chop my truck in half. WTF?!?!?!?!

I think and hope that paintless dent removal will do the trick on the roof. As for the door? Some touch up paint and and a straw. The straw is so I can suck it up and drive on.....

 

Talk about a bad day.

Check your garage door safety sensors, and make sure they are high enough so that they don't pass the signal under the truck behind the tires.

 

Yeah that is going to happen so I don't repeat this horse shit. I ddin't even push that damn button in order for the door to move. Man I am heated!

 

Snuck it's prerunner ass off on a bit of unexplored local trailage. Nothin major at all but found a cool fishin spot under a rural river bridge.

 

damn that sucks! my friend had something simmer happen with his FJ. so they have a car garage on the house. and a 2k sq/ft i think garage away from the house that he parks in b=since he can’t fit in the other. well the release that allows you to open it by hand or close it. got hooked on his snowboard rack when we stared backing out, and the big ass like 20 foot by 9’ door dropped and landed on the spare tire. and 1/4” from falling off the tire and into the back window. it was scary as hell hearing a load bang and the fj moving a little.

 

Ok, not that makes me feel better about my situation. Mine could of been worse for me had I not stopped the vehicle in time.

 

yeah. his could have been worse, if it had busted out the all the back window and would have done body damage as well. i use to have a pic of it on the tire. if we backed up 1” it would have been thousands of dollars in damage.

Stupid GAYrage door damage

 

Installed some '09-'11 LED tail lamps on my '06. Big and simple upgrade; looks great!

 

Installed Redline Tuning QuickLIFT. it's a handy mod for a Tacoma owner when you're working on or around the engine bay. very helpful because there's no hood prop that can get in the way.

 

That's not so bad. It's on the roof and if you really wanted to, the Dent Doctor kind of person could probably pop them out pretty easily.

 

Not good, but could've been worse.

 

Very nice man, any issues with the truck? I am at 85k and it looks like I will be keeping this truck a while longer.
