Maybe they'll add things into the interior that are none functional, like the hood skewp.

    I've posted this opinion before...

Any Tacoma that has a MSRP over 30 grand (mine was 34K)...should come standard with leather seating.

If Toyota actually put more time and effort into designing a package worthy of the Limited name, then maybe it might be worth the extra $$$

Chrome is very nice, if used in the proper proportion.
Most of the chrome haters are just the bottom-up style/fad followers.

    - its because base bottom end vehicles come without chrome and cost less.

Style flows from the bottom up. Ripped clothing became popular when the people from below couldn't afford nice clothes (so they wear ill-fitting worn out hand-me-downs). Girls wear their own old clothes that are three sizes too small and ripped. Guys wear their big brothers or fathers old worn out clothes that are 15 sizes too big and don't stay up right (falling off with the underwear showing). Non-chrome became popular when the people from below couldn't afford the chrome option. Flat paint schemes became popular when the people from below rattle canned their beaters and it sun faded after 3 hours.

These styles are UGLY people. Chrome and shiny is nice, as long as it isn't over done ala 'pimpmobile'. Which is an interesting example, because this is typically the course taken by those who move from the bottom into greater wealth and can finally afford the chromed shiny things that they always really wanted, so they tend to go a bit overboard into the realm of tacky.

When you have most people living at the bottom and having ugly junk, the style sense of others (the minority who can have nice things) is to conform with the majority.

To me, that looks pretty nice. Rims aren't my style though, I prefer 15 or 16" rims for better buffering when you feel like driving over a curb and don't want to break your rim.

    damn...

and here I figured Toyota just wanted to add a little bling to an aging platform to keep the sales flowing?

I don't think it looks bad. Real trucks in the past have usually had some chrome on them. I agree with an earlier post, I like my truck looking like a truck and not a car. I am sure that will be a popular truck especially with older more mature buyers.

Ok, the Limited is not my style, but I dont think it is a bad looking truck. I think if you tag it as a limited, you kinda have to go with some chrome, leather, etc.... Would I buy it? No. Would I refuse to be seen in it? No.

Like most folks here, I prefer the color matched stuff to the chrome, although I don't really mind the rear chrome bumper.

Definitely not the one I'd pick out off the lot for myself, I could see how some folks may like it (I mean at least once or twice a day I'll see a car on the road and say, "did someone really choose to buy that?!?"). Not that bad, especially for a 2WD drive model.

Guess I'm one of the few that does not prefer leather. I've owned cars with leather seats before, and what I've learned is that while they are nice when the car is new, I personally am just not good at keeping them in good condition. To many cracks and rips when the car starts getting to 150 to 200 K miles.

None the less, I agree it should at least be the standard option on the higher end trim packages.

Kind of funny how the limited is "too much" money, but the more expensive Baja that has the fancy faux beedlocks and the bedside sticker that carries a higher price isn't?
