I tried this several times to no avail. I was to understand it did not work past the 11' models I think it was. Since I have a 12 and was not successful the 3 or 4 times I tried it I kinda gave up hope. But I'll try again.

Doesn't work on my '08 5-lug RC base either.

Nice thing is, somehow, the previous owner permanently disabled it on the driver's seat. Passenger side of the bench still triggers it... but following the above instructions, I'm not getting any change in the odo indication.

For my job I'm constantly in and out of my truck, and my dog rides shotgun a lot. So I'm one beep away from finding that bitch and puttin a good wad of caulk in her.

Only think I don't like is that I regret not getting white. Stormtroopers are growing on me. White and black looks so nice.

How hard to get at? I haven't looked into it yet but I'm running out of patience.

There's a writeup I was going to link to but couldn't find it.

I honestly don't recall if it's on the back after pulling the entire housing out of the dash of if it requires disassembly.

    Worked on mine. :notsure:

Someone made a comment recently that I got thinking about...the only thing I dislike about my tacoma is I can't see it when I'm inside, driving it. Gotta look at the other crappy trucks...yuck...want to look at mine.

Only ever get to see my truck sitting still. :(

I am not going to read all 51 pages of this ,but am i the only one who hates where the oil filter is on the 2005? Doesn't drain out the hole in the bottom trough under the filter and always have to clean the mess up with paper towels,

I have a 09 taco extended cab, when closing rear doors it sounds very solid, What I dont like is when you close the front doors it sounds CHEAP not very solid.

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
    .
Would love some good outside "split mirrors" with 1/3 convex like tow mirrors on Tundra.

Also ... drive line vibration ... accelerating from 0 to about 20 MPH is starting to bother me ... especially at quicker acceleration rates ... and up a small hill.

Other than that ... love this truck ... :D

An OEM sunroof would be cool ... and a "solid plastic type material textured dash" (not thinly painted plastic) ... :D

Have to pay attention to driving still.

Wife took the truck this morning, got to see it rolling around a bit.

WIND NOISE! I have opened the rear door panels, insulated them and tried the same at the front but no room with the elec. windows etc.
    Any suggestions?
One other complaint [minor] the temp & compass light not maintaing a bright mode! Any of you Tacomistas fixed these?

I wish there was an electric window in the rear with an up/down feature. And the stereo aux. input sound is pathetic. Now I have to get a new head unit just to hear the iPod.
