i think all of us should do diesel swaps, and then we can go around throwing plumes and braaaaaping like all the big diesel guys!!!!!

 

Doesn't the d4d have like 147 hp?? Would that not be a down grade????

 

i haven't researched it, but what you would lose in hp you would make up for with massive torque.

those little diesels aren't made for big power numbers...although doesn't the 2.7 gasser put out at least 150?

 

180 tq too or somethin like that! And the whole point of a diesel is torque. They don't put down big hp numbers. Ur ignorant if u bought a diesel for hp. Torque for pulling power and reliability is why most people buy diesels

 

thats why the ZL1 camaro puts out 580 horses, but the 7.3 powerstroke has *only* 400 horses. its the 800 lb/ft of torque that makes the power.

 

holy shit!!! I have no idea about anything relating to a diesel but all I know is that ford 7.3 is a DAMN strong engine! My cousins and a bunch of their friends were drinking, took the truck out on some back roads, one of my cousins (owner of the truck who was drinkin 180 proof and is 16) had just chipped the truck and wanted to show them what it could do. My cousin in the back seat looked at the speedo and it said 87.....he got sideways on the dirt road, went off the side, over corrected, hit a tree rolled up it, the tree snapped, and they flipped the whole truck twice. Somehow the truck started up no problem after they rolled it back on the wheels.

 

not on MPG! the D4D in the hilux gets i think almost 30. also have more HP and more torque.

 

that truck has twice the HP as mine, but nearly 4 times the torque. i know mine's not a huge powerhouse, but mine feels fairly strong...i can't even imagine.

 

I use to have a 95 f-250 with a 7.3 . Besides tacomas diesels are my second favorite thing. I had it built up. DP tuner, 5in turn down exhaust , straight tipped, 7in tip, thicker head gasket with fg head studs, upgraded 68mm turbo. she was amazing 5 spd too

So im in Chicago and da Bears and Packers play tonight. All day all ive seen is people with Bears stuff on! Haha its kinda cool actually! Im goin out tonight to watch the game so I hope they win, it could turn into a pretty fun night!
