    I'm not.

as stated...the 5.0 works out well with the added 1/2 quart. save the other half quart for the next oil change.

I would not be comfortable adding only 5.1 quarts.

The point was that the 5.1 is cheaper in Walmart (addendum: if your Walmart carries it) and that advance is more expensive.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
.1 quart = <.5 cups Really not a significant amount in terms of oil pan capacity. Baking a cake, yes.

Where do they recommend 5.5? I know where they state the capacity is 5.5...

I know you didn't call me dumb, but you tried correcting me on the amount of oil I'm buying. Also, don't just go by capacities listed in the manual. They are a reference, some oil will stay in the engine when you drain and refill. I empty the 5.1qt. jug into the truck, let it sit for a while and check the dipstick. It's always right in the upper half of the dipstick every time. Everytime I've added 5.5 qts, I've always been showing overfull on the dipstick and had to drain some out.

I know, the link is a bad one. I've never paid that much for oil. The Autozones around here typically have sales where it's around $25 for the jug and I stock up.

Admittingly, it was a lucky guess at first. I knew it's advertised as the 5 Plus jug but couldn't remember the exact amount.

You have to check the quantity when buying a jug of Mobil1 from Advance Auto. I once bought a jug from them for $23 without checking (assuming it was the 5 quart jug), and once I popped the lid to pour at home, realized it was only a 4 quart jug. The containers looked very simliar, when their edges were rounded off. Luckily it was for a corolla, so that quantity was sufficient but I definitely overpaid. Basically the price for a 4 quart jug from Advance equals the price of the 5 quart jug from Walmart. Moral of the story is don't assume anything when it comes to oil companies and always check the quantity!!

Also, check the safety seals on the oil jug cap. There have been reports about people returning spent oil in the nice, new jugs and either through irresponsible people trying to rip off the store, or employees not paying attention, they got put back on the shelves.
