Im looking into putting some headers into my 01 Tacoma but i noticed there is a big difference in price for stainless steel headers compared to ceramic coated. Is there really a difference?! How will it affect performace?

All i know is that ceramic gives off less heat but i dont know what difference it makes in performace

ok ill guess ill just go stainless steel, i mean afterall it is my daily driver, that way the headers can last longer.
    Thank You

If you get un ceramic coated headers, make sure they are 304 stainless.

For that matter, like Darthyota asked, find out about the coated ones as well.

If the non coated ones are 409 mild steel, they will rust if not coated.

the only problem with wrapping headers is that the wrap will absorb any fluid that's spilled on to it which can be a significant fire hazard not to mention that if you rub up against it while working under your truck it will irritate you skin

One thing to combat is silicone spray. You can purchase that at Home Depot, for much cheaper than say DEI.

That is what I do to mine, to help it last. Helps to keep the moisture out.

The non coated ones are 409 steel, here is the website for the following JBA headers on autoanything.com

Very nice! I do recommend getting them coated at some point, if you don't at the time of purchase.

That will be a heck of a nice bumpage in power!

I ended up getting the stainless steel ones, ill post up pics once they come in. I got them fairly cheap too. The stainless steel ones were 478 on autoanything.com plus i used a 15% off coupon (coupon code: PBEB3) and it brought it down to 407. :)
