Hey guys I'm new at this so forgive my ignorance but I had a question about doing this on an older model and couldn't find it anywhere!

I have a 98 Tacoma V6 3.4L and I've been having some trouble with the ABS. I looked around an it seems that this system is really sensitive and I was looking for a way to disable it. I thought about pulling the fuse but then I got to thinking that I would more like a switch to be able to turn it on and off. I haven't been able to find anything though for the 1st gen, and I'm not so good with wiring diagrams to figure out which wire I would need to splice into. The only thing I found was on an 05 tacoma that says to splice into the blue wire w/ yellow line. I did find that but still don't want to splice into it and find it was the wrong one!

Also my truck is a 4x4 with rear diff lock button (elocker I believe?)

And also I'm new so if this is in the wrong place or you can point me in the right direction of where it should go or someone else who could help that would be great!

I've included some pictures, as I'm a very visual person, of the wire I think it might be (it's inside the cab under the driver side dash). Also the ABS wiring diagram.

    Oh boy...
I need to get that mod. I know plenty guys here in the 808 state that would like to be able just sit and roast some tires. As well as kill sand and mud. This VSC is ruining it. I got a TRD Sport and wanna be able to turn that shit off already!

Its gotta work for a 2012, however surprisingly enough no one here has seemed to do it. I think the wiring colors are different and unless you can read the schematics until someone figures it out we are SOL....

Id really like to have this mod on my 2012 for the snow... :(

Have you guys looked to see if the wire is the same color on the 2012? If you spend the $15.00 you can verify the wiring diagram yourself.

Okay if the diagrams you provided are from a 2012 then the mod in the OP will work just fine for all 2012 trucks with a locker. I'm trusting your diagrams so let's be sure...

Also, If your truck does not have a locker you can still disable ABS using a simple variation of this mod but you must follow Landphil's instructions in his post here.

The presence of a hydraulic brake booster vs. vacuum booster do not bear on this mod. But to clarify, 4x4 trucks with locker are the only ones with the hydraulic boosters.

Ok,so if I do this mod then their is no need to do the locker anytime mod correct or would it be better to do that mod and use it to disable my abs?

Excellent! I hope I answered your question.

Apples and Oranges. The mod in this thread fools the computer into thinking the rear locker is engaged. The locker anytime mod allows 4x4 trucks to actually lock the rear diff even if your not in 4LO. Totally different mods.

Please post back any 2012 owners who do this successfully! Will be great to get the absolute verification that this works fine for 2012.
