G-Force Performance Chip

Anyone have experience with their claims? (60HP, 4-7MPG). My Taco is 4cyl, 5sp manual 2009 4x4.

 

Don't bother buying that. You won't see any performance changes.

 

Have you, or anyone you know, tried it?

 

Think about it. If it performed as advertised, most of the people on here would purchase and install them. Most of us are trying to improve performance, gas mileage, etc.
Typically, if it sounds too good to be true, it isn't true. Also....you get what you pay for.....and sometimes you pay for something you don't get.
I would recommend staying away from them, but it is your choice.

 

Try searching for performance chips. There are LOTS of Tacoma, and Toyota forums online. Nearly all are unanimous in that they're a waste of money.

But if you want to drop your cash on one... come back and let us know how well/poorly it performed.

........but he's back! Now in a 1999 fully manual Taco, just back from offroad bliss in the mountains.

As for the chip, I never tried it but after much study I have come to believe that the crafty Toyota engineers have more or less optimized the venerable Tacoma with respect to function and efficiency -- porbably around a max of 25MPG for light 4x4s, and any improvement over this, using a standard combustion engine, is likely to come at grave expense in performance. Since the new Taco is used mostly for heading up the hill and hauling rocks, I have entirely ceased to give a damn about mileage. That's where the VW Rabbit TDI comes in, at 50MPG. "Different animal!"
