Rice peak is pretty cool! The 4x guys could hit the gap and then take the backroad up to the top?

Im quite possibly in for either or both trips. Will mainly depend on being on call or not and cash flow. Will have a better answer when u guys figure out the details of both trips. Ive never been up the back side pf mt. Lemon but ive wanted to check it out for awhile now.

From when I went last the roads were grated and the only trouble I can see for anyone with low clearance is the couple of switchbacks toward the top

Yea, the Element is the tiny boxy SUV type car, but mine is the SC (Street Custom) model, which means FWD, and it's lowered. I don't want to risk it.

Your Element will be fine man, I've never seen the road bad enough I couldn't have taken my 3000GT VR-4 up it...

Pending the recent monsoon season didn't seriously jack the road up really bad or anything. You just have to watch for protruding granite here and there and all should be good. Might need a bit of speed in a few sections near the top but it's really not that bad. Honestly... it's basically Reddington Pass
