To be honest I think they are the same truck with different badges. I have always liked GMCs and known people with them more then chevys. But chevys are damn near the same truck and I like them just as much. You can't go wrong with either of them.

Not trying to sound like a dick, but with logic like that it seems that you were born to be a 'Chevy Guy'!

Also, the Ford trucks have been 'sucking' their way into the top sales spot for 36 years. Look around some job sites or on some ranches / farms and see if you spot many 'Rental Grade' GM trucks.

Would you consider a Tundra? If not why not. Is is about the same price as a Chevy/GMC

I don't follow them that closely to know option for option, but besides the interior options (leather, heated seats, etc), the Sierra has the woodgrain and other things that to me, just seem more "luxury oriented" than the Chevy. And the Denali is much more of a luxury truck than an LTZ Chevy. But I agree, not much difference.

Based on the poll and if I had to pick. I would get the GMC over the Silverado. You could wait til next year, I think they are redesigning the truck and I'm sure there will be some heavily discounted GMC/Chevys on the dealers lots.

One question though, why no Ford ? Their quality is top notch. I've personally owned 6 Fords, none of them ever gave me problems and 2 are still in the family. 3 of them had over 175k miles and were properly maintenanced.

I like the look of the chevys better- I can't abide that woodgrain finish in a modern vehicle under any circumstance.

Dunno if it's the same where you're at, but you can't swing a dead cat around here and not hit one of these (or a Ram). I think the guys here have to mod them and/or fill up the back window with stickers just so they can find theirs in a crowded parking lot.

Because everyone has the preconceived notion that they suck because their great aunts cousins daughters boyfriends brother had one that blew a tire once.

To the Ford ? Of course. Everyone has their opinions. Some people are born driving a Ford and won't drive anything else. That's where all the biased comments and recommendations come from.

Not eveyone. Tundra would be my 3rd choice in a full-size, behind the F-150 and GMC.

Well if I wanted or needed a full size I would either pick a Ram or Tundra. Just because of the back seats, they are huge. If they are properly maintained any vehicle will last a long time.

Like I said earlier you can look at any vehicle and find a group that had bad experiences and others good. As far as the F150 it not like you have to get the Ecoboost. There's still the 5.0 and starting with the 2013 models you can also get the 6.2 across nearly the whole line.

For me with full size it goes Ford, Ram, GM, Toyota, Nissan.

100% agreed. The 5.0 and even the smaller 3.7 for someone who does not tow seem like a great alternative to the EB. Well, 99% agreed since it goes Ford, Ram, Toyota, Nissan, GM for me in a half ton.

In our poll GMC is winning. Sounds good to me.

This. My dad has had 3 F350s and never had any problems other than maintainece that any truck would need over time. Their f250s are just as awesome. What size do you plan on going with, 3/4 ton?

Or maybe a titan (dont know too much bout them). And i kinda like how the tundras look, maybe you could check those out. I dont see why there's so much hate between chevy/ford. We have had fords for like 30 years and they never gave us any big problems. We have a 99 that we bought new that has 231k on it. :notsure: I also think chevy's can be just as good. I am a ford fan but i would love a 70s trans am :D

I would go GMC like the interior/exterior better, had a 2007 Silverado in the family for 5 years and didn't had a single problem, now we have a Mark LT that's the same as a F150 just with more luxury with the 5.0, it runs pretty good.
