ATX wheels and tires PLUS SKID, PICS GALORE

So I went into my local discount tire last week and ordered this combo; however, I did NOT order NITTO terra grapplers, I order Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10's in 285/70R17. Well, the manager ordered the wrong size and ended up getting 285/75R16's. To tie me over he asked if I wanted to roll around on the Nittos until the Hankooks arrived. Psh, YEA duh! So I've been rolling on these for the past couple of days which aint bad cause I'm getting free mileage out of these tires. The manager suggested that I take them off road and see how they do and if I'd like to keep these; I know the nitto's are awesome (used to have them on my nissan frontier) but I want to try something different.

These wheels are American Racing ATX artillery Teflon coated 17x9 w/ -12mm offset. They weigh 27.8 lbs and are currently American racings latest off road wheel. W/ this wheel and tire size I'm getting a slight rub, so I still need to trim some plastic.


















Rubs the frame just a tad at full lock and on a slight grade w/ the wheel flexed. not bad at all though...






STAGE II-ALL PRO IFS SKID
Last month I destroyed my lame toyota skids so I upgraded to ALL PRO's skid plate, which is a thousand times stronger than what was on there (I know budbuilt fans, but this is a damn good skid) I spoke too soon like a dumbass and tried mounting this skid w/ the crossmembers left in place; I took them off today and bolted the skid plate in! yay, thanks for the help gents.

The family washing machine represents hahah... I 'secretely' put the sticker on the old mans Acura RSX, and now it resides on the dryer. Nice.

Sway a away 2.5" C/O shocks. I already bought them off a member on this forum but they need to be revalved since they came off a 4x4 set at 2" lift. Came w/ the sway bar too, then I'm gonna get an AFE intake; these tires obviously took some power.

FYI: anybody want my old, 2009 TRD wheels and tires? I'm also getting rid of the engine skid (still good) plus two front mudflaps. Hollar if you want em!

Nice looking wheels and tires i would stick with those but like you said you wanna try something different, you should have represented that sticker on your truck it would look better on that than a dryer lol.

ah well, u know, the dryer needs love too. Too much SoCAl all over my truck. My SOCAL suspension and my Socal tacomas, a little redundent; however, I should have removed the so cal suspenion and left the so cal tacomas. We will see.

 

I think I have an extra one...I'll be the Tundra there...i'll give you one if I have it.

Great setup! IMO you should keep the tires.

 

DAMN MAN! Those are the exact wheels I've been looking at swapping onto my truck! Looks sick! Congrats on the new setup. Oh, and my dad has that same floor jack- that thing works awesome, its a great jack.

 

I agree the nitto is fantastic, but if you research the Hankook you'll realize that it is just as stout, if not potentially more than the nitto.

 

That jack is pretty handy for sure. Thanks for the comment, at least you know exactly what they look like on a taco now! They're pretty cheap 140 a pop for 17"
The teflon makes it easy to clean, dirt slides right off no problem...

Whoa! only 140 each for 17's? where from? Tirerack.com wants 163/ea for em and I thought that that sounded pretty reasonable for those wheels. Hope you like those Dynapros, they seem like a good tire with all the reviews I've read. Make sure to post up what you think of them when you get them on and dirty.

 

After staring at those pics some more, looks like you could use a 1.5" AAL for the rear end. That's certainly make it look more like its lifted and give it a better stance too, IMO.

 

Discount tire, they gave it to me for cheap since I bought the tires too.
