I've searched but can't find anything saying it is or isn't possible, I have the opportunity to buy a trd cat back exhaust for pretty cheap does anyone know if it will line up correctly, the exhaust is an hour or so away so I can't just line it up and see.

    So my questions are

    Will it fit?
Will I have any pressure problems?

Note: performance isn't number 1 on the list it's for a doublecab and an access cab so it will be a "for fun" project. I just don't want to put it on and not have it perform as well as the stock exhaust.

I have been curious about the same thing, but I think the pipe in front of the muffler is different on the V6. You could always cut and weld to get it to fit.

How loud is the 10 compared to a 40 on the 2.7?

I loved the sound of a Flowmaster 40 on my 2.5l Ranger, 4.6l F150, and my brother's 4.3l S10. Just not sure if I want my Tacoma to be that loud.

Used exhaust pipe and muffler, reminds me of used toilet paper, not something I would really want.

And what would you consider a good exhaust sound? Maybe the sound of a 1968 Camaro z28 with 302 and stock chambered exhaust? Maybe a big block Chevy with Purple Hornies? Ford 302 with open headers?

Would you buy used headers? I would buy a used exhaust if it doesn't have too many miles on it.

But the question is do the 4.0 and 2.7 share the same exhaust from the cats back.

The V6 an I4 exhaust is the same if the body is the same. When you order a magnaflow they are the same product number and so are other brands. I am wondering the same question too. I just installed the DT/Jardine catback and its alright, but could be better

Bump. Anyone out there ever install a TRD Catback on a 4 banger? I have an extra TRD catback that i had set up for my v6. Thinking about having it custom fit to my 4 cylinder though.

Curious what the sound is like

I know it's not the TRD Catback system, but for what it's worth- I have the Magnaflow 15240 exhaust system, which is 2.5" from the cat to muffler, then 3" from the muffler back. I got it Black Friday for around $300, and it sounds great. Very mild sound inside, no droning issues. Outside, it has a low grumble very similar to a WRX. The 3" gives it a nice burble when coasting and downshifting, as well.

    BobcatSR and BassAckwards like this.
