Yeah. I think Obama isn't doing enough to stop it. At least step up security at the Embassies in Middle eastern countries.

There are conflicting reports; but it appears that attack was a planned attack. It was not representative of the locals since they actually held him has a hero. That said; there are now FAST Co Marines at three different embassies around the world. Now let's see who wants to start shit.

Yeah, I heard there was a group of people that rushed one of the injured diplomats to a nearby hospital to try and save him. I read they are sending 50 Marines to act as security at one of the embassies in Libya. Shit is going to go down in the next couple of weeks though; I'm anxious to see what's going to happen.

Not "acting" as security; these are Marines that are in a unit that does this kind of training every week. BTDT. I got to go to Saudi Arabia back in '04 for this kind of stuff. These Marines will show up with full auto weapons, scoped rifles, and lots of ammo.

They're not going to be there permanently, are they?

No, but with a proper built embassy they are not needed permanently. Also the general agreement about embassies is that the host country is responsible for providing the external security while the US provides the internal security. The rule of thumb on that is the Marine Security Guard detachment is there to protect the classified information first, the people second. It would take some serious resources to station a company of Marines at every embassy around the world.

There have been multiple embassies attacked over the past few days... Other than the Libyan Embassy.

Don't get me wrong; I'm pissed and ready to flip the switch to rock n roll. The problem is that the Libyan attack was not at the embassy; it was at a consulate that the ambassador was at. It was an organized attack versus these other riots outside of embassies. I still do not appreciate seeing the US flag torn to pieces and do believe that those fuckers should have been met with force. I am just afraid that people are going to group all of these events together when it does not appear that is the case. There was no demonstration at the consulate building; it was an assault that resulted in three armed professionals dead from gun shot wounds and a dead ambassador.

While the embassy attacks should be dealt with; the assault and murder of the ambassador is an entirely different event that should be handled as such.
