I saw a pimped out Tacoma yesterdy that reminded me of this thread. Had some pimpin chrome 18" or bigger wheels, chrome steps, chrome brush guard , chrome bumpers + more

In my opinion the truck looked terrible , but I bet the owner thought it was badass .

I just wish toyota would offer the leather with other packages besides the limited .

But back to the topic , I bet the truck will still sell .

You could always try and get the dealer to swap the chrome pieces, bumpers grill etc

I would like to know why it is called "Limited". Shouldn't a base model be the 'limited' model, and the top model be more 'unlimited'.
What's limited about it compared to the other models?

Limited means very few, and unlimited refers to infinite quantity.

Go north of the border. Toyota Canada offers the TRD Sport in double cab with factory leather. Personally, having owned a car with leather seats before, I don't like leather - burning in the summer, cold and slippery in the winter. Also, as time goes on, creases develop and make the seats look old. The Wet Okole fabric IMO is the best.

This Tacoma would be the Tacoma you wouldn't want your friends to know you drive because you're embarrassed(Shade in the summer, warmth in the winter). Maybe with all that chrome it's going to take more people away from other manufactures who have as much chrome as the Tacoma does.

Limited used to mean a limited amount were produced and had trim that was not otherwise available on other models.

On this forum, Limited referes to the number of people who would buy one...

The long and short of it is that sheople ( yes..the mass market for anything in this country is a bunch of sheep that do what the herd does ) will buy it. Like someone else said, look at the Lincoln Blackwood, the platinum F150,the Cadillac version of the Avalanche,or any Denali packaged GMC. They'll walk on the lot..like a Tacoma, and one will say " Oh look honey, they offer it in a limited package. " That will be all it takes. Heated seats are nice ( especially if you live in a climate that actually gets winter (and no you silly southerners,45-50 degrees is NOT cold ) , as are heated mirrors . But for the money they want and the bling treatment they've given it , I'll never own one.

Funny how the ones who are complaining about a lil chrome on the 2013 are the same ones who go buy black paint or plasti dip and paint everything black on their truck and think it looks good. And that looks good come on? In my opinion painting everything on a truck cheapens it just like overdoing anything on it. Bottom line if you don't like it don't buy it.

    nice

are the leather seats a standard part of the TRD packages? or a line item upgrade? and if a line item...how much?

also, I wonder why the leather seats are not avalable as a line item RPO in the US?

The heated leather seats are an option for the TRD models , above the regular TRD trim

It was about $2500 more when I bought my 2009 IIRC

    nice

wish my TRD Sport had them.

I may bail on the wet okole GB and put the cash toward a leather interior.

wonder why leather is not a RPO here in US? or is it?

I could never figure out why they didn't offer factory leather in the US models .

Toyota makes odd marketing decisions , we can't get a DCSB Offroad , we get the 4 leaf pack rear standard , and they offer heated seats for us but not heated mirrors

Go for '12 TRD Sport Upgrade instead! See my pic... I think it's the ideal set-up. I'm a first time Tacoma owner, previously owned a '00 4Runner Sport and loved it to 175K miles, but wanted more versatility, so I went for the '12 TRD Sport Upgrade last week for a number of reasons over the '13 Limited...first off, no chrome! Mine has color keyed mirrors, bumpers, flares, door handles etc. plus hood scoop, yeah I ended up with the chrome wheels but that is an easy fix compared to the other bling on the Limited, everything else is the same except for the fake leather (SofTex) heated and drivers power seat. Heated seats can be added here locally for $150-200 a seat, and who cares about power, once it is set I don't move it because only I drive it! I did get the 4 leaf rear w/Bilsteins, 6.5K tow pkg. with oil cooler, larger amp alternator and all the other add ons like the Off Road pkg. plus rear camera, Bluetooth, Entune, JBL w/sub etc. for much less than the Limited or even Baja without the annoying decal, less chrome, loud TRD exhaust, fake beadlocks and outboard reservoir shocks. Only thing I may miss is the rear locker, but the Limited doesn't come with that standard either. I will just be more careful I guess. Plus I got a great deal on the '12 since the '13s are coming...the dealers want to clear the lot of old inventory.
