    Ben i also know a really easy way to fix the door for free..ish..

    all you need is an old basket ball or foot ball or something like that and a pump.

    Remove the door cover and put the ball right behind the dent. Then just inflate it till its popped back out, won't be 100% perfect..but it'll work pretty well actually.

    It didnt work out for me. Their is no proof usually unless you can get them to admit it. I just know when I went to do the same thing you were thinking it caused more problems and resulted in a few fights later on. im not saying dont beat the crap out of the kid, but just to consider what could happen long term if you do.(aka hes a cry baby and tells his parents who decide to sue you).
