    My sliders coming soon, I hope. What is reccommended for painting? Something that won't come off when I stand on them. What is this talk about needing a long wrench? What size and how long does it need to be?

    A 7/8" wrench is need to tighten the two nuts on the front bracket. Most can simply slide an arm in and simply hold the wrench. Some others have needed to temporarily modify a tool to reach. The passenger side is unobstructed. The drivers side has a fuel line bracket that can be removed with a 12mm to access these two nuts.

    This is up front where the frame goes to a fully boxed. Right at the transmission crossmember.

    Hey Dave...I recently purchased a set of these and they're awesome. I prepped the bare metal by doing a quick wipe down with paint thinner and then a wipe down with white vinegar (you'd be amazed how much more comes off of the metal with vinegar).

    I then did a primer coat with Rust-oleum flat black primer followed by the top coat of Rust-oleum "Hammered" finish (I used gray). A very durable, thick covering paint.

    Are these bolt on or welded to the frame? If they are bolt on how sturdy are they, can you lift the truck with a hi-lift on them like the first pic in the thread?

    Bolted with (6) 9/16" Grade 8 hardware (included) and also to the factory carrier bearing crossmember on underside of frame.
