'Most' threads I read where the OP get's bashed is directly due to the OP's unwillingness to do any sort of research on their own. When I have questions I try to answer them myself by doing research. If I can not find any info I PM someone more knowledgeable then myself. If I strike out on plan A and B I would ask in a thread, but I would provide all the information needed and state the intent of the part or mod.

There will always be trolls on the web so IMO OP's need to do their part in not setting traps for trolls to comment in. In most cases if you ask a question like "what size tires can I fit on my 05' 4x4" you could receive a poor response.

Can't admin just hammer them more often if it's such a large issue?

This is so not ever gonna happen with so many ethugs.

I got a little gripe too...........new members that come on here and are treated with respect and given helpful knowlege to get them through a dillema............then not even a day later posting shit to poke fun at another new member who likes a different style truck and just wants help. I wont name names but that shit bothered me like a motherfucker. I apologize for swearing so much but it emphasized my anger through typing!!!(atleast its not all CAPS):D

Gang mentality and group thought are rampid in real life.........but when you can hide behind a keyboard then its gets way worse.

If they ask "Heres my truck!", thats simply posting their truck, and not asking for thoughts. As I said, If they are asking what people think, then be constructive. An example would be
    "What do you think?"

See what i did there? ^^^

if you cant aprriciate the work someone put into their truck to make it how THEY like it, then I dont feel a reply in the thread is just.

Oh I know. I'm just saying if it's that bad off with their heads.

I know on some other forums admin will get directly involved in certain "troll trap" threads from the beginning and shoot the OP a PM asking them read the forum and get used to it before asking blind questions.

Personally I leave smart ass answers to smart ass questions. In this day and age I am amazed this question could not have been answered with a simple 1 minute google search and all butt hurt avoided, but here it is asking for it (IMHO). http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/wheels-tires/239501-trd-sport-rim-question.html#post5699011

This applies to us (mods) too. There have been times in the past, that we've made a bad decision. Dont think you cant PM us about it. Comunication is key when an issue arises, and allows both sides to push thru it, and remain on good grounds.

Yeah I agree. People do tend to put themselves in vulnerable situations, but it gets way outta hand. Like for instance damn near any thread or question about adding more power to ur truck and making it faster turns into a ” if u want something fast just buy a race car” thread. I mean wtf is that bullshit about!? So a lot of people have things like exhaust, intake, and superchargers on their trucks which add hp and make it faster but when someone asks about wanting those exact same things they get made look like the biggest dumbass on the site for wanting to know an answer that all those people at one point asked!? Someone please explain the logic in that one!!??? That's just an example

And ive seen countless times those same shit talking people make comments about how nobody gives a fuck and if u wanna cry about something do it to a moderator. Then what!? Apparently that doesn't work as often as it should cause some of those trolls seem to have 10k post counts and shit. So what's the point in bringin something to a moderators attention is visually nothing is done about it!?

Agreed, we all started somewhere. Not barely 2 years ago I didn't know sweet fuck all about performance. How did I learn? I dived in head first without much guidance. Thats why I always try to help those who even ask about something simple like throttle body spacers. I can't even count how many times I've answered simple questions but I still keep doing it anyways.

A good deal of 'action' from the mods is done behind closed doors. Like Chris said they do warn people and I have had a couple warnings myself for being a DB. I personally think the mods do a OK job at keeping the balance of derp and freedom.

I just think if this site has issues that are so bad then the TW membership wouldn't be growing so quickly while other sites seem to go down hill.

Heck check my last 10 posts from today and you will see exactly what I'm talking about. 1/2 of my posts are to people asking what IMO is a derp question that they want a spoon fed answer to. It amazes me people would actually listen to answers they have no clue are correct.

If you wanna play that game-If they post and say "Here is my truck" - they didn't ask for your opinion...They presented info and that is it. If they ask-He said be constructive. So take the time to read & understand every word before you try to make a diction argument.
Any way you cut it-I got taught as a kid: "Nothing nice to say-Don't say anything"

If you dont ask, how will you learn? I didnt get to be where i'm at with Toyota by not asking. If i needed to plumb my house, or run anything electric in my house i would absolutely ask someone, and at that point, i would have no idea if what they are telling me is right. The reason, IMO for creating a "???" thread is to get multiple answers from a wide variety of informed members. I wouldnt take 1 answer and go with it, but if it was the same answer from multiple people, i probably would.

Its all about give and take, there have been many members that PM me with questions regarding issues they are having with their vehicles, i answer them as best as possible, i have also told them, if i dont know, i will find out as best as i can. We have to either choose to help, or choose not to post.
