    By reading

When I don't know something I read up on it. Check the threads I have started in my stats. Do you see any question threads? Not a single one. Somehow in 4 years I learned a hell of allot for a novice Tacoma enthusiast without clogging this site with question threads because I was to lazy to do the work to know it. It's also a fact people retain more info when they do the research rather then get answers from people.

You would, I hope, ask an electrician right? Well 1/2 the people answering threads in here are not mechanics/techs (myself included).

To sum it up trolls will be trolls and poorly asked questions will receive some 'improper' answers. The mods do a good job at weeding out the issues and new members who see asshole responses to poor questions should be able to pout 2+2 together and figure out a well asked question with proper info receive good responses. If people flame someone for asking a good question then off with their heads.

    Too many to list now.
Haha I like how this is a thread devoted to cleaning up TW and keeping things civil and not escalating them to name calling at the first chance you get........and here we are. Well done sir.

Let's allow people to help others understand how their truck's features work WITHOUT a small group dismissing the Toyota made features because they either don't have it or have expensive after-market additions.

If someone has a truck with A-TRAC and wants to hear from others how it works or what it can do, it is not helpful to have someone with non-Toyota front lockers dismiss the A-TRAC, for whatever reason. ;) As you said, there is 'fun' bantering and kidding around, then there is downright disruptive content... yes?

I tell people this all the time. Theres a difference in asking an intelligent question based on what research u have done and then still don't understand and need some clarification, and a question that is started with ” I know this is probably discussed all the time so im not gonna look it up cause yall should know the answer” This happens all the time in the MT and LT threads. Its very hard to keep ur mouth shut in these situations

This is the key to a well run forum IMO.

Also admitting your wrong goes a long way. When I'm wrong I admit it and learn from it. No one is perfect. I always tell my guys "it's not a mistake if you learn from it & now you know so never do it again."

While I agree, many folks, myself included, skim a post/thread, and go from there. granted, the issue lies in the person who skimmed the post, and may have missed vital info, its still not carte blanche* to go on the attack.
