Ha! I also noticed, I had a hard time getting in my truck when I bought it. Coming over from driving 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks. I figured something to get adjusted with downsizing.

Also the mileage is not too bad coming over from the new emission diesels, but my '05 Cummins got the same or slightly better than my '12 Tacoma, and twice the weight.

All and all, my Tacoma is a good truck, and will do what I need it to do since I don't tow anymore.

I have been a Toyota owner for years from the pre tacoma trucks, t100's, and 1st gen Tundras. Only got the newer tacoma because I think the body lines look better than the new tundra's. The new Tacomas are nice but there need to make them a slight bit bigger inside. Overall its a great truck with great resale but making the truck a lil bigger and adding a small v8 sure wouldn't hurt it. Toyota made a big mistake by changing from the 04-06 Tundra double cab design to the 07 and above design.

I have had my 12 DB cab 6 cyl TRD Pre Runner for about 8k miles now. As far as what I like about this truck , well just about everything, I like the ride and the handling I like the interior and the safety features. I love the looks of the truck, about the only truck that competes in the looks department is the Ford Raptor ( sans boyracer splotchy paint scheme) but at 8 mpg and anther $15-$20k... well it aint that damned cool looking.

What I dont like about the Tacoma... the factory stereo really sucks and I am no a stereo tech geek, but the factory stereo in just about any other car/truck I have owned in the past 10 years was better. Truck power vs. mpg sucks. Why the heck does this truck get the same mpg (22 mpg Hwy) as my buddies Full sized 6 cyl ford Ecoboost? At the Tacoma price point of $29k for a decently decked out Prerunner being about 8k below a comparably equiped Ecoboost, that kinda makes up for the crappy mpg to power ratio. But if Toyata deemed to equip a Tacoma with the 4.6 liter V8 with the 6 speed auto out the Tundra... I would be in line right NOW to trade my Tacoma in.

Don't forget Fords 3.7L V-6 with 300HP while our 4.0 has 236hp. Ford pulls better fuel economy numbers with that engine too.

... ^^^ ... You are spot on about the factory OEM radio. This time I went for Entune and love it and the 2013 Entune is supposed to be even better.

With all that said ... you can still get more bang for your buck with a good aftermarket radio from someone like Crutchfield.com (and they come with great DIY support & DIY directions too).

I've only had it for about a week, but I love my Taco! It's a beautiful truck, and I can't wait to start really modding it! So far, all I've done is smoke my "pink" tail lights... but I have a few things on order, and can't wait to get those little bits done!

I've loved the looks of these trucks since this model was available in 2005! I ended up getting a 2005 TRD Sport, SWB, DC/LB with 95000km on the ODO, and this baby is CLEAN!

I was always a GM man, until I bought my 98 4Runner in 2004.... I still drive that truck regularly, and it now has 198000km on the ODO! The 4Runner has been my baby for 8 years, I've lifted it, and modded it to my liking, and it has been the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned!

I hope this Tacoma is just as reliable, and I truly can't wait to get a lift, and bigger wheels and tires on this bad boy so it sits nice and tall like my old 4Runner!

LOVE IT! Has anyone had a problem with their daytime running lights burning/melting the lens in front of the orange bulb?

    Love the truck overall.

Wish it had some minor amenities that seem to be standard on a Ford Focus these days...Auto windows anyone? MPG gauge and a few others.

But overall for a pickup - it doesn't get much better IMO

2003 Regular Cab. 86k on the odo. 5 Speed. Stock everything. I love the truck and love the purchase price, but really would like an extended cab. Throwing groceries in the tool box kinda sucks. I will sell it to fund an extended cab in the near future. I just need the space for gear(packs, guns, clothes, groceries)
