Factory bells and whistles will hold some value, but only the major items like power, 4x4, alloys, factory roof rack, Base vs SR5/Limited, etc....

The finer points like the TRD package aren't going to make a difference 70,000 miles down the road.

Aftermarket bells and whistles, no matter how cleanly installed and how cool they are, will never amount to more than about 10-20% of their purchase value, and usually not even that much. In many cases they can reduce value. That LT kit cost big bucks and looks sharp... but it's also a sign that the truck was abused.

When I was selling my Silverado, people saw the roof rack and offroad lights and the first thing they did was ask for photos of the chassis or crawl under and inspect the areas where mud and sand would "hide" and they'd ask if I took it to Glamis.

I just got a 2013 with Sport package. I had to custom order it and wait about 2 months to take delivery.

According to the dealership, they limited the availability of the Sport package strictly to crew cabs with 4WD. But custom ordering allowed me to get the Sport package on my Prerunner Access Cab.

the extra package does not increase the value of the truck. so when trying to sell you only get what the value is of a reg. tacoma.
