Congrats - You have clearly blown WAY past the line.
Lets just sit quietly and relax for a few minutes....All this e-johnson comparing doesn't matter until dyno pulls get done and picking fights in the meantime isn't gunna fly..

Not sure on the exact time frame that the dyno will be don for the N/A manifold, but it will be relatively soon.

The one for the F/I will be before the month's end.

I read the output numbers recently. Not sure where? It might have even been posted in the Performance section? Kind of under the weather right now. Either way, the timing gets bumped up by the ECU on the higher octane. Just a tad and just enough to pick up a little more power. Nothing special, but true. What really is interesting, is that the '03-'04 1GR made more HP and TQ. About 10hp and 20tq.

If it weren't such a pita, it would be worth swapping some heads.

Also, these are just the first designs. I am quite positive, that if these do well, the desire to make refinements will be there. If we don't have the desire to test things out, at all, how can we progress forward from where we are?

Too much for TW to know
I wouldn't really pick a car fight with Toon. His turbo build is impressive enough not to mention he has a s14 with a sr20 swap just for a DD.

I see what you did there. o_O. Lol.

My apologies on not being able to get that to happen on a local truck. There were a few that offered, but the one I was going to use, fell through. Though about doing it on my truck, but was to impatient to run my turbo again. So I missed that opportunity on a Manual truck, twice.

In my defense though, I did get a before and after dyno done, on an automatic 1GR, in a rather short period of time, after offering to pay for it. So I did follow through, as I had said.

Hopefully not... I know I got tired of waiting and NST giving me the run around so I just went ahead and made my own plastic version for my 6-spd.

Seriously. Enough with the BS. This thread is about one thing. 1GR intake manifolds and seeing what these specifically designed ones can do.

Sadly, I should have kept the design myself, and sold them myself. I promise I would have been faster at getting the product out of the door. It saddens me about that. Who knows. Maybe I will make another style, and sell those on my own....

I was not pointing at you so to speak, just the lack of direction from a previous threads Owner making claims and never seeing any "logical" data to support said claims in a reasonable time frame.

Does anyone out your way have a flow bench? Those numbers are an easy way to predict possible power gains and where tuning may be difficult.

Does anyone have a CAD drawing of the Intake Manifold with some flow analysis to see if it's an adequate design ?!

A flow bench test using a mock up of the entire intake tract would net more thorough results.

Hello, thanks for the interest. Really, manifolds and welding are a passionate hobby. I have sleep issues, so I enjoy modding/fabbing parts, tuning and more modifying.

Realistically, the benefactors of these manifolds are turbo and/or high rpm power people. I can't say that I can guarantee a big or any increase of hp, but making the intake path more efficient is behind all my designs. I needed to keep the overall height down and runner length reasonable for the NA truck it is intended for. The turbo version will have 2-3" shorter runner length. Having the bend in the interior helps with length and I was supposed to form velocity stacks at the ends. Having the runners away from eachother also helps reduce turbulence from the flow and reverse flow of the intake. I am still making the tooling for the velocity stacks, but wanted to finish this guy up to test on the NA 4 Runner. The shorter runner length, consistent runner diameter will provide for a more efficient intake. Aluminum for the capability for higher boost, direct port nitrous apps and customizable for crazy Tacoma guys...

I can do a simple static pressure test as a side by side comparison. I'll work on that tonight...

I hear ya. No offense taken. Just that I felt the need to explain myself as well, considering where stood on that discussion

There has to be someone around the area. In fact, you bring an excellent point to the table. I completely overlooked that. For a simple reason though.

You thought is excellent as well, and with SoCaltaco65, it would be really cool to see that data. It majesty me wonder if that data has been published or not, on the factory manifold?
That would make it much easier than trying to contract someone to do that.

The main reason I have overlooked the flow benching, was that I want an intake manifold that is strong. Obviously it needs to at least match the CFM of the factory one. That being said, strength is why I wanted to have one made. Due to the high pressures of the boost which i plan on running, and being afraid of popping a factory one. And running the risk or dropping screws into my engine.

I was going to have a place that makes them for American Engines make it for me.

    http://treracingengines.com/treintakes.shtml

But my friends that are tying to get their shop up and running asked me if I would be interested in letting them give it a go. So I said why not. That is where this was born from.
