I am going to use this space for a write up on installing Relentless Bolt On Hybrid Sliders with Kickout.

Eric and his team make a high quality product.

I have painted all the parts that were bare metal.

Tomorrow I will be installing all the parts and I will take pictures of the progress as I do it. I have to go grab some flat dollies to build a small frame to hold them in place.

Eric feel free to chime in if there is something I have missed here.

I could possibly install all this backwards, hahaha.

Any and all advice is welcome.

So I have been waiting for the rain to let up so I get under the truck and look around to make sure I know where everything goes.

I am still a little unsure about where the extensions go on the sliders. So we will see what happens there.

SIDE NOTE: Meanwhile I have put a brisket on the smoker.

    Brisket
Half Brisket Marinate for 2 hours or longer

    Rub
    Paprika
    Ground Mustard
    Salt
    Pepper
    Oregano
    Onion Powder
    Garlic

    Mop
Rogue Pink Voodoo Beer with Bacon and Maple
    Liquid Smoke

    Cook
Smoker at 225 for 30 minutes
    Place Brisket Fat side up
    Smoke 3 hours then mop

The brisket has been on for almost 6 hours now.

I just finished installing the sliders and will be posting pictures as soon as I upload them.

So I have installed the sliders and performed a preliminary test.

I started by making a rolling cart stand that held the slider in place as close as I could get them to the holes in the frame.

Once in place I positioned them as best as I could

Then I installed the U Cross Member Bracket

As always leave everything loose until all bolts and nuts are in place for fitment reasons.

Removed the Drive Shaft Cross Member Bolt

Removed the Hose Bracket as it was in the way.

    Lining up the holes

Then I clamped the back so that I could keep the holes inline to start installing the bolts.

I installed the U Cross Member Bracket Bolt to the sliders because it is hard to line up.

Then I figured out what the extension arms were for

Position them inside the boxed in part of the frame and install the bolt for the one closest to the back of the truck first as it is easier to get the front one in because the extension arms from the front will be close to the hole for the back one.

Re-install the Drive Shaft Cross Member Bolt so the the rest of the slider is in place.

Install the rest of the bolts from the outside

Use the square washers on the inside.

Also the last hole in the frame toward the rear I believed was a mounting hole, but the bolts were not long enough to fit through it and get the nut on. So I do not think that is a mounting point.

There is one bolt and washer that goes inside the boxed in part of the Drive Shaft Cross Member. One of those tough spots to get to.

Hi Lift Time with Relentless Hi Float Base

I know everyone had been asking around if the bolt on sliders were strong enough for a Hi Lift.

They flexed a little bit since I did not install the bottom two bolts that require drilling.

It came close to the pinch weld but never touched.

Great write up and the brisket looks delicious! Must be nice having that waiting when done with the install as a job well done.

If you had added the bolts to the bottom (where drilling is required) do you think it would have not flexed? They look like even without the bottom bolts that they would hold if you lost clearance and save your rockers.

    Thank you.

Unfortunately the brisket was bland. Should have marinated it over night instead of only two hours. Crock Pot it goes with more mop.

Thanks Eric. Again great product man. I think I am going to drill those holes in the bottom and add the final bolts just to complete the ordeal.

Yeah these are super beefy. I dont think you need the bottom two bolts unless you are just super careful.

I can imagine once I let them sit a bit and then go back and torque them a bit more they wont flex at all.

I havent been working out so I am kind of weak on the wrenching.

So while I was under there I noticed that my passengerr side CV boot clip came off the top end of the boot.

    DAMMIT.

I just had this fixed from the sway bar crushing it when it popped off.

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...rained-cv-boot-help.html?highlight=lower+link

Thoughts? I am wondering if I need to get the diff drop for my truck since I have the 3 inch lift.

I read that it is not necessary and some say it does not even help.

    Again Thoughts?

The diff drop is a must i think with a 3" on a 4x4, but as i have not lifted my truck yet (this weekend :D) ill let someone else answer that
