Hello Everyone. First Post here, but long time lurker.

I wanted to get peoples opinions on the JBL Bluetooth Quality.

I am looking at buying a 09 or 10 Tacoma Double Cab Ling Bed TRD Sport but and very torn on buying the premium JBL system, or getting the non-JBL and doing an aftermarket. I like a system that has bass, but I don't need obnoxious amount, just enough to fill out the sound, and I like the BT to work well.

    So my questions are:

How the is BT quality and performance?

Where the the JBL sub located in the 09/10?

And if I don't get the JBL system, can I put in my own sub in its place (aftermerket in the OEM location)? I don't really want to put the special sub boxes behind the rear seats to take up space.

Or is there a better solution?

Thanks in advance for the input, and sorry if this has been covered, but I couldn't find any results using the searches.

    Too few to list.
The BT is good, its not great but still very functional. The JBL is good too but at the moment, I'm having the same issues like everyone with the "blowing in mic" sound coming from the rear speakers on volumes 25 and up. The sub is located behind the rear passenger side seat.

No complaints about the blue tooth. Wish the dial by name address book held more entrys, but whatever.

For the JBL, my 09 DC is a very nice system for a factory system. Very solid bass and nice mids and highs too. If you get the 09 just test the system with a disk of MP3's before taking deleivery, you might have the "old" amp with the issues. Its easilly fixed with the updated amp. For 2010 they should have it ironed out.

I'd go factory JBL since you indicated that you have no need for an over-the-top system. You wont be dissapointed with the 7 speaker JBL + its covered under your warrentee.

The sub in the DC is located under the passenger side rear seat.

I have an 07 with the JBL upgrade, no BT here, but after installing an aftermarket HU to control the sound going into it... I'm very happy with it. Bass isn't anything spectacular, but as long as you tune your stereo right, it has decent quality.

the limit is 20 names if memory serves. It a function where you speak the name you want to dial, and it dials it.
