Brady, For some one who was scared to scratch his truck in moab you sure have made a big ass 180!

 

I tried calling you around 2 on Saturday but you didn't answer.

How challenging of a trail would you rate that? I may be down for that. Not sure about driving that far with my jacked up driveline.

Do you guys think that that many vibes will cause problems to diff bearings or anything in the T-case? I couldn't care much about u-joints or the carrier bearing now since they will likely be replaced with the driveline anyway.

 

Pssssshhhhh!!! Body is still flawless I was careful there. The underside of the Taco didn't fare so well though I figured there isn't much chance of me selling the bull bar because it is too heavy to ship, and it is getting replaced when I get my front bumper, so anything coming off is fair game to destroy All the other carnage is just sliders and frame really, except the driveline which just means I may be getting a one piece sooner than planned and when I go wheeling I will just swap this driveline back in and not have to worry about destroying it.

 

yeaaaa...you need a new drive shaft haha i can see a big ole dent..and sadly..that is where your vibes are most likely coming from. If drive shafts are perfectly balanced and want not..the shake like crazy. Id be gentle with it till you fix it. and fix it ASAP.

 

Brady, I have a spare driveline. I was going to see about modifying the slip yoke with a grease zirk to keep it properly lubricated. It has slop in it because of the lack of lube. My current driveline has slop in it as well but quite as much I don't think. Lol. Anyway. If we need to get a hustle on that project we can and then you can test it out and have a driveline for the time being that is at least balanced. Or I you just want to throw it on before the grease zirk we can do that too.

 

There's a lot more than one dent there... I think the whole thing may even be a little bent. I hear that one of the older 4-runner drivelines is almost a perfect fit so I may look for one of those and have it sized and balanced at a shop.

 

Yea..just get a new one in there dude before you rattle your U joints apart. Brant seems to have a good solution for ya

 

That would be great for the time being!! Especially since my car is in pieces in the driveway right now. haha. Not sure when I will be available to do anything at least until Thursday... That might not even be an option...

We had a long chat with the Dr. today and my grandpa is still unconscious and doesn't show signs of getting better... plus most of his organs aren't functioning very well... Unless something crazy happens tonight we are pulling the plug on him sometime tomorrow...

I started going up to Boulder with 33's and no armor I think your truck would do fine I talked to Brant and he may be coming over for it. I would get that drive shaft fixed the easiest thing to do would be pull it run it over to Six States or some other driveline shop and have it retubed and balanced.

Sorry to hear this about Grandpa Gerald. How is your Grandma doing? She still alive? Tough times man.

 

I got a stock skid you can have its just taking up room in the garage.

 

Grandma got divorced and remarried to someone else decades ago. He never got remarried. Thanks for the thoughts guys. It was pretty rough being in his room after the talk with the Dr...

I know the stock skids are ornamental. haha. That damn rock was just big enough to obliterate them. Had they not been there I would have touched my frame a little and cleared the rock. haha Instead the skids hung me up just enough on the rock to have to do a little maneuvering around.

I'll have to talk with Brant about the trip and browse around about the driveline thing. Thanks for the help guys

well the 84 was a total piece of shit and would of had to be towed to my house. I don't want a project of that sort. The engine was seized and in the bed of the truck.
