Heres an interesting tid bit I found out yesterday from one of my Toyota clients. (some of you may already know this)

Apparently Toyota warranty costs are based on the number of claims Toyota has on that particular vehicle (research is done over the lifecycle of that model). They are based on various Levels: Level 1, Level 2, Level 3...where the cost of the Level 1 is the cheapest and Level 3 the most expensive.

Heres the cool part...Level 1 consists of two vehicles for Toyota...the Corolla and the Tacoma. These two vehicles have the lowest warranty claims than any other vehicle Toyota has out right now.

Level 2 consists of the Camry, Avalon, FJ Cruiser, and 4Runner, and Rav4
Level 3 consists of the Tundra, Sequoia, Highlander, and Land Cruiser

I thought this was cool info seeing that the Tacoma seems to be one of the lowest warranty claim vehicles currently built by Toyota. So, even though some people think our warrantys are expensive...it would cost more to warranty any other Toyota besides the Corolla. :)

I can't say as though I'm surprised, but very interesting to see it is a fact.

Even with all the suspension TSBs? Or do they not consider that...

You think that the suspension TSB is a big deal...but it's really not.

I found the numbers a while back...I want to say Toyota sold 140K Tacoma pickups in 2007...and there are like 16,000 members here. So even tho there are threads like DAILY about the TSB- If EVERY person on TW was eligible for hte TSB and got it...It'd only be 11.5% (or so) of hte tacomas sold getting the repair. No where near that many people are eligible, even less get it, and that was sales in one year. So all I'm saying is that the Leaf TSB isn't a huge repair over all. I'm notsure if they count that or not either...

Plus it says alot about the reliablity and engineering in the truck...Regular parts work together well and do not fail...I like it!
