    Well I just tried to tune my cb antenna. With the ground wire connected my swr was over 3 no matter what. Then I disconnected the ground wire (saw online someone said the antenna wire didn't have to be used) and got it to just over 2. What the fuck?? I hate electricity ....

    are you trying to tune it away from buildings and stuff? That will throw it off. Also what are you grounding with the wire?

    I guess not, I was in my driveway. The wire comes out of the antenna and I have it going down to a bolt in the frame.

    well i think your missing something.... so you should have the coax wire going from the CB to the antenna. Than you should have a ground wire going from the CB antenna mount to the frame or grounding area of your choice.

    The ground wire is to ground the antenna mount..... Not the antenna ..

    If all is hooked up correctly , then try grinding off 1/2" of the tip antenna

    Correct there are 2 different antennas. the non-grounding type and the grounded type.

    Also if your having trouble tuning it you can take it to a CB shop and they will tune it and its usually not very expensive.
