    I've got a trip coming up Thanksgiving week, and I'm expecting to need armor for it. I'd love to get it all from you, including diff armor. Is that timing a bit too tight?

    There's an outside chance. It might take a while, I am trying to come up with a really innovative mounting style, no clue yet what that is yet. Don't want weld on but don't want it to be like others either. I'd like to have Delrin or similar copolomer insulating the mounting surfaces, seems the bolt on style could cause damage to the housing if it were to hit just right and that would stop that. I'll let you know what I come up with ASAP. Thanks

    Sounds like you and I are on the same page.
    Considering the low ride of the diff, and considering the surface area is rather small, I'm thinking 1/4" would be the minimum plate size......or at least, the center and/or leading edges would be double-layered/reinforced/gussetted/thicker.
    For mounting, I'm wondering if designing some sort of slightly convex-shaped collar would work? Kinda like a reverse hourglass. A few inches wide, so that forces would be spread out over a larger area of the axle tube. The shape would be so that the clamping forces of the mount would be spread out equally. :notsure:

    What diameter tubing? There are a lot of clamp on options in standard sizes, I'm sure I can help you come up with something. You are not looking for something super robust so should be a pretty easy fix
