    885x with 5100s and top plate spacer for full 3", RCD extended 5100s in rear, dakars, flip kit, LR UCAs, tint, shorty antenna, in channel rain guards,BHLM, blacked out emblem, OEM side steps, weathertechs, debadged, rear diff breather
    x2.............if you have a LSD pre 09 go get the friction modifier from autozone. I bought a 4oz bottle from the dealer and used regular gear oil. Doing fine.

    bilstein set at 1.75, Racho 5000 rear with 4 leaf kit, floor mats, high lift jack, pull hook in hitch, bed rail corner braces, severe duty brake pads and devil horns on the grill....
    A five gallon bucket of 80w-90 GL5 was $72 dollars at NAPA and at 3qts/change that would be a little more than 8 changes at around $9 a change....

    Just did my rear diff. with lsd and used 75/90 synthetic valvoline with 4 oz additive,however the next morning it chattered so I added another 4oz of additive and the last couple of days it stopped.It only did it in the am when it was cold and turned out of the garage.Should I leave it as it is or should I get the 80/90 gl5 with additive?

    I replaced mine with standard non synthetic and its going to be just fine.

    Seems almost all types are LSD compatible.

    Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
    30,000?? Someone's not getting full enjoyment out of his Taco. I just turned over 15,000 on my 7-month-old truck, and had to do all the gearboxes.
    Filled them with Redline 75-90.
    Even with extreme abuse, I can now double my service interval AND have 200,000 mile gears that look factory fresh.
    Why? Well, if you know synthetics, you know Redline is the ONLY oil out there that uses 100% synthetic base stock. And that includes SnakeOil...er, Amsoil.

    Mobil One 75-90 in the front and transfer case.

    That was Speed Freek's Recommendation and had a great 2,600 mile Baja trip soon after!

    It's not necessarily a problem with the oil. Not all additives are up to the task. I used to use equa-torque but the local parts stores quit carrying it. I tried something from O'Reilly and it chattered immediately. So I bought some additive at Napa and it worked...for about 10k miles. It got worse and worse with mileage and chattered when the oil was cold. The truck would shake violently pulling out of the garage just like you're describing! So I searched until finding the Equa-Torque and changed the oil. All is good again. So my advice is to only use this LSD additive and change the oil. If you don't, it's only going to get worse.

    75/90 in the rear. Since you dont have the sport, dont worry about friction modifier additive. I have always run mobil 1 Synthetic in the front & rear diffs and transfer case. My best friend, who is also a Master Toyota Mechanic, recommends it.

    Toyota never said use 75w85 until the 2009s came out and the LSD disappeared. I wouldn't use that in an LSD rear. 75w85 so far is always synthetic which isn't guaranteed to play nice with the clutches.

    $71/qt... retail of the toyota diff oil LT isn't half that. Besides, Redline synth 75w85 is $15 so why pay so much if you have an '09+ and want to use it.

    I just saw 75W90 at local auto parts and all the Valvoline and Mobil 1 both sais LSD in the label. Is that specific to the TRD Sport (LSD) model?

    The Mobil 1 75/90 or 75/140 is in my 2010... front,transfer case and the 140 in the rear. Working perfect since SpeedFreeek did it!

    I'm due for this this weekend, would a lower weight gear oil be better for me since I live in AK? I want to go full synthetic and have been reading up on royal purple. I don't mind spending a bit extra to lengthen the life of my truck. 2010 sport so I DO need the additive correct?

    Oh good. I'm curious about the viscosity still so of anyone knows feel free to chime in. My truck almost invariably gets started up when it's 15-30 degrees Fahrenheit out. At least 7 months out of the year.

    I bought 3 qts of mobile1 synthetic for my 2007 sport and the bottles say there's already LS additive included in the gear oil. Do I still need to add the 4oz. Bottle of additive???

    This was like 3 months ago that I bought the bottles and I'm seeing a bunch of negative reviews on the mobil1 synthetic. Did I just waste $30?
