    Exactly..

But that isn't what people keep claiming.

They claim more power, more MPG, and BETTER filtration.
    None of which are true.

#1, the filter is not the most restrictive part of the stock intake system.
#2, the stock intake system can flow more air than any normally-aspirated Tacoma engine will ever need.

So your tradeoff is more dirt in the engine, in exchange for......

    ......noise.

i just barely got the whole intake for 40 bucks, tube, filter and the cover thing. i just got it cause it was cheap and cause i gots a S/C, but in the near future i wanna get a dry filter cause i dont wanna have the MAF problem. and having to buy the stchupit cleaner kit. as for MPG i really dont care cause im already not getting that good of MPG......... actually how much dose a stock 3.4 get ??????? i get like 16-18 MPG S/Ced?????

    your math sucks;)

This...... And after driving a ricer car before the truck and doing all the cool intake and exhaust mods on a 4cyl honda and killing engines like it was my job............I gave up on making "slow" vehicles try to be fast. Fack....even the SC for the 4.0 makes it around as fast as a stock tundra 5.7(around there.....dont go search and correct me....its fuckin close). Even if you own a Xrunner.......cuz we love all TW members!!!.....a air filter is so minimal in part and in monetary value..........how could one think it would have much more benefit than a little throttle response.......and DIRT. Answer.............MARKETING:eek:

He's counting the 2nd 30k on his current filter that he was going to change but isn't.
He bought 90k worth of filters, discovered they were good for 180k, and now has another 30k before he needs the first one.

He'd go through filters faster if he would stop shutting his engine off any time he goes down hills :D
