at this point, unless OP comes back and says otherwise, I'm betting he wrecked it, possibly DUI or friend DUI and fled the scene. Subbd.....

I'd like to know what the $700+ was for? Towing might cost $100 at most, this really doesn't make sense...

that and other things..........not alot of info to go on but like I said.......Fishy:D..............could be a broken window we dont see..............he says MP3 stolen..........but is that a cover? So many possiblities. Im not jumping to conclusions............just my spidy sense tell me something is up. The damage alone is suspect for what he "kinda said happened".

We will just have to wait for the OP...........I do love TW cuz there's always one thread that has me coming back eager to see whats up.

He left a lot untold. Police called him after it was wrecked into a parked car? But yet doesn't say its stolen/ friend did it/ woman I know was driving. Just weird is all.

:D, I'm not the one saying DUI, just curiosity about holes in story, 9 times out of 10 on here, when details are left out, something is amiss.

I said DUI, but only in the context of my "bet" on what really happened. No accusations intended. With the amount of info given, an equally safe bet would be that a rainbow unicorn flew through an open window and abducted the driver causing the taco to roll driverless into a parked car/poll :D

Like everyone else, interested to hear the whole story.

After a little sleep, and re reading the original post, it sounds more like the
truck was parked, and someone hit it, then the police came and told him
about it. Sucks, hope he had good insurance...

that actually sounds very plausible, and the car that hit him, rearended him and hit his rear bumper and leaf spring

I think you guys are right. Sounds like it was parked, got rear-ended and pushed into a parked car in front and a pole. That sucks.

Hope you get it worked out OP. Sounds like you're insured and motivated to do mods vs. fix it back to stock? This would be a good excuse for a fat front and rear bumper, some nice leafs, the hood you want, etc. Let us know where you end up.

My original question still stands, wtf was the $700 for? If it was hit and run and the op wasn't at fault it wouldn't cost anywhere near that for a tow or a hell of a lot more than that for a fix.

    Too many to list now.
You should get some Brute force fab bumpers. Then they'll be the ones towed away.

After reading the OP's post a few times it does sound like his truck was hit and then the cops towed it. Maybe they couldn't find him at the time.
