Are those the shocks that Eric (97yota4wd) picked up thinking they were 8's?

Engine cage going to be badass. Are you building a pivot for the one piece?!

Nah I got em from Eric "R3DDRAGON" My buddy that lives down the street. He's the same guy getting my old front end ;). I do plan on having the one piece hinge forward but I might mount it to the core support/forward body mounts because I don't want the clip fighting the mini-fenders

Oh nice. Didn't know you were selling/sold the old front end.

Yeah, some simple hood pins to hold it in place on top would work nicely, then latches just to hold it down at the back.

Tweaked the numbers and I'm now getting 20.5" of travel.

EDIT: I'm still only planning on using 18" of that

Tweaked the numbers or modified your mock-up? Cuz, ya know, I can tweak the numbers on my truck and say I'm getting 73" of travel.

But I'm gonna strap it at 72.5" to minimize the bumpsteer.

Safety concerns. As well as it comes to point where the goal isn't maximum travel, but good tuned travel. Having some tolerance on both ends is a good thing.

Plus I think at that much down travel the steering rack will not be able to take it too well.

Duck nailed it pretty much. The last 1/2" of travel is useless (negative castor) and I really want ground clearance at full bump. Currently with it smashed all the way up It only leaves me about 3.5" of ground clearance I want 5" plus the goal was always 18"

    hahahahahahahahaha! +1

That's a decent amount of ground clearance at full bump. Are you close to finalizing the numbers? How's the steering/tie rod angle at droop/bump?

Lower is -29* at droop and +30* at bump when It cycles 18"

    The steering will follow suit

EDIT: Ground clearance is important I've read a few stories of people injuring they're spine when bottoming out hard

60* Degree swing isn't too bad. I know of Steering upgrades in the works currently that I think would complement your truck nicely.

    Full Heimed Steering?!
