Got my order the other day! Thanks, TRD springs/caps on them, just need to swap out the base tokicos this weekend & tho on the AAL out back.

 

I had these shocks that came with an RCD lift on a Silverado and they are awesome. It's relatively cheap and perform excellent! I can't wait to get them on my Tacoma!

if i get spacer lift for now can i add the 1\4 spacer on my spacer for it not to lean to the left the taco lean.. do i need to buy 2 for front and back or just 1?]

Is it possible to buy these with an OEM coil and hardware all assembled. I have a friend who is going to replace his blown coilovers with a set of these, but he needs all the parts to go along with them.

All you need is to go to toyteclifts.com and order the 1/4" spacer x1. You only need one to put on the drivers side front. There isn't any spacer needed for the rear.

There are a few choices for your friend. You can either buy a set of OEMs from someone on here with low miles and replace it all at once. OR you can go to one of a few sights including toytec and order aftermarket springs with 5100s installed. The kits are completely assembled.

 

Will keep my eyes open for a good used set I guess.

hey love this site....i have a couple questions...first i am working on getting the suspension tsb done with the dealer...I have a 06 doublecab trd offroad.
I am thinking of getting the 5100's for the extra lift from the shocks...will they improve the ride over the stock offroad shocks or is the ride quality about the same..
and next question..what is the info above on the spacer for the drivers front? What is the taco lean?

 

I think most folks enjoy a better ride. The 5100 shocks are a better quality shock in general....More oil, larger body, correct valving.
The Taco lean is a slight tilt to the drivers side of the truck- Gas tank, battery, and driver are all always in the truck...the passenger side tends to not have as much weight regularly. A 1/4 inch or 5mm spacer int he front suspension tends to correct this issue.

the 5100s have better valving so they are a better ride
"taco lean"- if you measure your front drvrs side and pass side from ground to bottom of the fender flare going straight up middle of tire you will notice the drivers side is 1/2" lower than pass side. all tacos are like this. its not too noticeable. some people correct it with the spacer when they do minor suspension upgrades.

thanks...ok now for the 5100's for the rear or the 5125's...any big difference?...and how hard are all 4 to put on? I have never done it...but it looks easy..can someone walk me through it? thanks

 

The 5125s are basically thee same as the 5100...but they come in different lengths i think.

There is a write up for the front shocks and the rear shocks are fairly simple-Look at the shocks in there are remove the bolts holding them in...Install the new ones according to the instructions

 

if i set the fronts to 2 1/2 for lift... is it a true 2 1/2 inch in lift? (i have a short garage so just curious)...

 

Is that price for all 4? 2 front 2 rear?

It is bright and early here in lovely C.V.
and I just wanted to give all of you a heads up if possible....
We are going to be running low already on Bilstein 5100 Series
Shocks for the '05-'09 Tacoma's.This time it looks like Bilstein/RCD
is out of rears now...Before it was fronts and now it looks like rears..
I am not sure what is going on between the two companies, but I wanted to try and keep everyone informed...There are a few customers out there that placed orders yesterday and I am actually purchasing shocks from
some of my competitors this morning to get the Orders filled...So no worries about existing orders..

It looks like we will have fronts for a little bit and I am waiting to hear this morning when everyone opens what the latest ETA is..

Good morning,

The 5100 and the 5125 Shocks are the same as far as finish and the Black Boot..The 5100 Series Shocks are valved and usually sold vehicle specific and also carry a warranty with Bilstein.The Bilstein 5125 Series Shocks are sold in different lengths of travel and are not valved vehicle specific..
They also only carry a limited warranty...Most of the time 5125 shocks are
valved 255/70 or 170/60 and some of the stem to loop 5125 Shocks have a little firmer valving for IFS front end applications...

I just put on a set of 5125 Series Shocks on the rear of my older Tacoma
1996, an 8" Travel and an 8.5" Travel (One shock is longer then the other) on the older Tacoma's and changed out the bushings to the correct size and they work like a champ...
