very nice! how much time and effort does it take to set up the changing room? on a nice summer day, would you break a sweat trying to mount/unmount it? i had an eezi-awn t-top 3-series and it was a pain trying to put everything up/down. the fabric is thick, which means it is heavy, and everything was done over your head.

The first time I used the changing room it took about an hour and I was sweating like I was headed for the electric chair. Now it probably averages about 15-20 minutes for the changing room. The top gets connected to the tent before it's opened and the support poles stay attached to the bottom of the tent while driving so all that only takes a minute to set up. There are tent stakes around the base and the most time-consuming part is trying to find rock-free ground to drive them into. This fabric is tough, but lightweight and not heavy at all.

How does it do in the wind? And what about when in transit when you are driving in the rain and then go to open it up? Very cool setup. Sorry I meant to quote the other guy. But your rig equally sweet.

I quoted the wrong pic. This was meant for you>''How does it do in the wind? And what about when in transit when you are driving in the rain and then go to open it up? Very cool setup."

No issues in wind at all. It has a very thick water proof cover that covers the tent while in storage/transit. I can't say I cruised around in the rain then popped it open but from the look of it I see no issues.

Here is Tepui tents owners rig in the snow (I have the annex area also - fits on very quickly and large enough for a queen size air mattress):

I'm guessing you're referring to my tent? If it was really blowing, I'd probably take down the awning from the one side as it has the least amount of support. Even though it's very well reinforced at the attachment points, I see no reason to chance it. I think the changing room would stand up to a fairly strong wind as it has internal tubular framing and stake tiedowns around the base. Also, the tiedowns are rubbery and adjustable which provide some flexibility rather than just being a canvas loop-

The RTT itself is designed to withstand a ton of wind. As the sides become basically semi-rigid walls when open with a hardshell top and bottom, I think this thing could stand up to a hurricane.

As for when it's closed, it's completely encased in an aerodynamic fiberglass shell so there's almost no wind resistance when cruising. It just slips through the air like a big, flat suppository. The top half goes straight up to become the roof of the tent and the sides just collapse into the case when closed keeping it all dry inside. No issues with opening it up in any kind of weather-

Used to haul the 4 wheeler and supplies to camp. This was over labor day weekend, one of the best camping trips of my life. Can't beat camping with your best buds.

Haven't trail/camp tested yet. But here is the new setup with AP expo rack.

What kind of rack is that on? I've been wondering about a RTT on mine but haven't heard much positive information regarding that setup.

    going "camping" this weekend.

it's for the group I'm in at our church...M3. mentoring fatherless young boys. gonna be fun. teaching them gun safety...fire safety...fishing in the creek...hiking...campfire stories and burnt marshmallows on a stick.

"camping"...because it's on a friends farm. no home, but there is a barn...and while the boys will be sleeping on the ground in tents...as an old guy, I'll be sacking in the motor home on the couch. :D

It's Baja rack utility/RTT rack. With the new mounts they offer there are no issue. I only went from this rack to a bed rack so I can fit the car into my garage with the RTT installed.

Great, now the choice between the flat rack and basket has another facet!

That's the small Maggiolina Airland. I would like to have a larger one (and am considering it for next year), but I bought this when I had a Wrangler which had much less rack area. This comfortably sleeps two people so long as you're not over 6' tall (I'm 5'11").

Managed to get out last weekend - was over at Denny Creek Campground in Western Washington. Nice campground but the noise from I90 made this place a place I will not return. Spent three nights there - lots to do and took a few pics of the creek/landscape. Weather was ok - best was Sunday when it was sunny.

Just gotta say - LOVE my Tacoma and LOVE camping with it!! This is the fourth outing this year and I want to squeeze a couple more in and have started planning next year. Looking for some fire lookouts to drive up to and stay!!

    Happy wheeling & safe camping!!!
